The long-awaited second season of the Prime Video series Reacher, developed by Nick Santora, has already aired, bringing fans a fresh dose of action to unpack. Based on Lee Child‘s popular Jack Reacher book series, the show has managed to capture the gritty atmosphere of the novels while adding its own unique spin. Season 1 gathered a lot of praise for its faithful adaptation and engaging storytelling, setting the bar high for the seasons to come. Although we’re well into Season 2, questions about the episode count and the story’s direction are still pretty hot. With the fast-paced nature of...

A crime thriller is always a good idea when you are looking for something entertaining. What’s there not to like? But apparently, an investigation drama can equally turn you into a fan of the genre but also make you wish to forget everything you’ve seen. And sometimes shows manage to do both…
The best example is Reacher, a crime thriller developed for Prime Video by Nick Santora. The series premiered in 2022 and there was no one who hated it. Reacher is based on Lee Child’s books, with the first season coming from the novel Killing Floor.
At the center of the story is the main character Jack Reacher, played by Alan Ritchson. Reacher is a retired military police officer who is framed for a murder he didn't commit and realizes right away that the world he has to live in is a dirty and corrupt one. So...

In the world of action heroes, Jack Reacher is arguably one of the most famous ones. Based on the fan-favorite crime thriller novel series by Lee Child, he has some really extreme characters in his saga, making it all the more interesting than ever before. That said, when it comes to the people who played him in live-action, there are only two names: Tom Cruise and Alan Ritchson.

While Cruise’s version of this action hero was undeniably pretty short, the six feet two inches tall towering Ritchson changed that through his embodiment of the character in the Prime Video series. However, when it comes to the height chart in this hero’s live-action franchise, then it seems that even Ritchson would look dwarfed as the series casts the world’s tallest bodybuilder in the show!
Warning: Contains Spoilers for the Reacher Series Ahead.

Unlike the big screen adaptation of Lee Child’s acclaimed novel, which saw Tom Cruise playing the titular character, the Amazon adaptation found a book-accurate actor for the series. Considering Jack Reacher’s 6.5 ft height is one of his most recognizable features from the books, Alan Ritchson, who stands at 6.3 ft, successfully embodied the intimidating nature of the character.
But despite being huge in size, in the upcoming season, it seems Jack Reacher is finally set to be humbled by Olivier Richters, who perfectly embodies Lee Child’s idea of Paulie in the books.

Reacher is gearing up to welcome a memorable character plucked from the pages of Lee Child’s book Persuader as Olivier Richters has been cast in the role of Paulie, according to CinemaBlend. The actor nicknamed “The Dutch Giant,” who has featured in films like Black Widow and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, will take on the role of a deranged bodybuilder who serves as a bodyguard for Zachary Beck, a new character played by Anthony Michael Hall. In Season 3, the story will follow the events of Lee Child’s aforementioned novel Persuader, in which Reacher (Alan Ritchson) visits the coastal region of Maine, going undercover in the castle lair of Beck, whose son is almost kidnapped. Fearful of his employers, Beck relies on bodyguards to keep his family safe, among which is Paulie. And based on Richters’ appearance, he certainly fits the character description as Paulie was...

Reacher's back -- unfortunately, he's not alone. Author Lee Child's airport-paperback novel series famously stars a hero that can only be described as a walking, talking tank. Prime Video's "Reacher" series has neatly translated the franchise's popularity on the page to the streaming era, thanks in large part to Alan Ritchson (recently the scene-stealing star of Guy Ritchie's "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare") as Jack Reacher. A far cry from Tom Cruise's capable (if not even remotely book-accurate) casting in the two movies, Ritchson embodies all the physicality described in the original books. After two successful seasons throughout the last few years, however, Reacher is due for his biggest challenge yet ... speaking extremely literally, of course.

The first season of Reacher became an unexpected hit – the adaptation of Lee Child's novels attracted viewers unfamiliar with the source material, as well as fans of the books who complained that the character previously played by Tom Cruise was far from what Child described.
The second season came out almost two years after the release of the first, and the show was renewed for a third season at the end of 2023. And only recently new information has emerged – a new chapter of Reacher's story will be released in 2025.

Hollywood actors had barely inked a new labor deal with major studios and streamers last November when the lights in Ontario film studios flickered on and local talent and technical crews eyed a quick return to work on American shoots.
But the homecoming for Hollywood after the grueling SAG-AFTRA strike has hardly gone as envisioned in the Canadian province, which is known for doubling for U.S. locales such as New York, Boston, and Georgia. According to Ontario production insiders, the province that once defied gravity as a booming production hub for Hollywood has come back down to earth, with production slower than expected and lower budgets on projects that are filming there.
“It’s been a slower ramp-up in business than most anticipated. But we’re starting to see a pretty good increase in business, especially in the past few weeks,” says Garin Josey, chief operating officer of Sunbelt Rentals Film & TV,...

Get ready, folks, because the man with the fists the size of Thanksgiving turkeys is going to return ... slightly later than we hoped. According to star Alan Ritchson, "Reacher" season 3 won't premiere on Prime Video until 2025
The news comes from Ritchson's Instagram stories, where he shared an image with just the words "The biggest name in action hits again in 2025" followed by the title of the show.
"Reacher," of course, is based on the Jack Reacher book series by Lee Child, and follows a former Army military policeman who is also the biggest and strongest man on the planet; a large man who also happens to be smart as hell; a wanderer who travels from town to town solving crimes and beating the crap out of people. As /Film's own Valerie Ettenhofer wrote in her review of season 2, this self-aware action show "has all the ra-ra spirit and obsession with...

Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming series based on James Patterson’s Alex Cross novels is being renewed for Season 2, Variety has learned from sources.
The show, which stars Aldis Hodge as Cross, has yet to debut its first season or even set a premiere date. But according to sources, Amazon was impressed enough with what they have seen from the first season to greenlight the second and begin casting. Jeanine Mason has reportedly already been cast in Season 2.
Reps for Amazon declined to comment.
If “Cross” proves to be popular, it would be the latest successful Amazon series based on a long-running novel character. The company found themselves with a massive hit on their hands courtesy of “Reacher” starring Alan Ritchson, based on the Jack Reacher novels written by Lee Child. Likewise, Amazon’s longest-running series to date was the cop drama “Bosch,” based on the Harry Bosch novels written by Michael Connelly.

Reacher is, without a doubt, one of Amazon’s biggest assets. This action thriller series has been popular for a while now, and we already know that a third season, which will end up adapting Persuader, Lee Child’s seventh book in the thrilling Jack Reacher series, is currently being filmed in Toronto. And while we’re getting hyped up for the premiere, we have received some great set photos that show Alan Ritchson, the main actor in the series, back in action as one of our favorite TV heroes.
A release date for Season 3 has not been given yet, but seeing that the series is still being filmed, we probably won’t see it before late 2024, but a 2025 release date is much more likely, based on the timeline. Now that we have said this, let us see this great set of photos.

Alan Ritchson has seen his stocks soar as fans request Amazon to cast the star as B.J. Blazkowicz in a TV adaptation of Wolfenstein. After the actor’s terrific portrayal of retired Major Jack Reacher in Prime Video’s Reacher, it is no wonder that Ritchson is seeing his fans call for him to take on more iconic roles.
Jack Reacher was first played by Tom Cruise in two separate movies before the TV show Reacher was released. But it is safe to say that the fans of the Jack Reacher book series have enamored themselves with Ritchson’s almost textbook-perfect portrayal of the character.
But fan expectations know no limits. Fans now want Ritchson to portray B.J. Blazkowicz, while some others believe he would be perfect as the Doom Slayer.

Despite only two seasons being released so far, fans can rest assured that as long as Ritchson wants to play Jack Reacher (which seemingly sounds like a long time), the show will continue to get the green light from Amazon Studios. “He’s got movies in the works with us, series ideas.

Prime Video was eager to reach for more Reacher, launching production on Season 3 months before releasing Season 2 — and months before announcing that a third season was in the works. The action-packed crime drama, based on Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novel series, stars Alan Ritchson as the title character, an itinerant ex-military police investigator with a knack for finding himself in mortal danger. In Season 3, Reacher “must go undercover to rescue an informant held by a haunting foe from his past,” according to Prime Video. Here’s everything else we know. Will there be a Reacher Season 3? Reacher earned an early renewal for Season 3, with Prime Video announcing the news in December 2023, nearly two weeks before the release of Season 2. In a video screened at the Ccxp convention in São Paulo, Brazil, Ritchson surprised fans with the news that Reacher’s cast and crew were already at work on Season 3. The renewal makes sense,...

By now, any fan of Jack Reacher will know the story of how Prime Video's "Reacher" series came to be. Once the Tom Cruise-led films were out of the way, fans demanded a more physically imposing leading man, which they got with the Alan Ritchson-starring "Reacher" — Prime Video's steaming series that topped Nielsen streaming charts in 2022.
An essential part of the Jack Reacher character is his size. Described as being six-foot-five, between 220 and 250 pounds, and having a 50-inch chest, the former military police officer is a giant brute of a man whose physically imposing presence belies a heart of gold and a keen sense of justice. So, when the 205-pound Alan Ritchson came in to audition for the Jack Reacher streaming series, he was almost there in terms of physical proportions but not quite. As such, Amazon wasn't initially sure about casting the "Titans" actor.

Coming off his big Prime Video debut in Lulu Wang’s Expats, Brian Tee is joining the cast of the streamer’s action series Reacher for Season 3 as a series regular. Production is currently underway in Toronto.
Tee will portray Quinn who is described as a physically imposing and intimidating character. He was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army whom Reacher (Alan RItchson) investigated ten years ago when he sold military secrets to hostile nations.
Additionally, Johnny Berchtold and Roberto Montesinos have joined the cast as series regulars with Daniel David Stewart set to recur.
Berchtold plays Richard Beck, a sensitive and artistic college student who lost his mother when he was young and is the only son of businessman Zachary Beck (Anthony Michael Hall). Five years ago, he was the victim of a traumatic kidnapping that left him mutilated.

Sure, Tom Cruise doesn’t look anything like the Jack Reacher character as described in the novels by Lee Child – but the average movie-goer didn’t seem to mind in 2012, when audiences showed up to make the film Jack Reacher, written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie (based on Child’s novel One Shot) a box office success. Made on a budget of $60 million, Jack Reacher earned over $218 million worldwide. It looked like Cruise had a new franchise on his hands. But sometimes bizarre decisions are made in the name of franchise filmmaking. With McQuarrie busy working on a different Cruise franchise (Mission: Impossible), the Jack Reacher sequel was passed over to Cruise’s The Last Samurai director Edward Zwick. A promising start. But then the questionable decisions began, resulting in a sequel – 2016’s Jack Reacher: Never Go Back – that fell short of its predecessor in every way.

Following "Reacher" season 1, which set Prime Video viewing records back in 2022, wasn't going to be easy. But the second season of the show was just as sharp and self-aware as its predecessor, while also managing to feel a whole lot bigger. Most of that was because the production wasn't hindered by pandemic-imposed restrictions this time around. But the book on which it was based, "Bad Luck and Trouble," was also an arguably more epic tale than "Killing Floor," the novel used as the basis for season 1.
All in all, author Lee Child has written 28 Jack Reacher books in 26 years, plus a short story collection and a guide to the world of Reacher called "Rules." "Killing Floor" is the first novel in the run, but due to the plethora of source material, "Reacher" showrunner Nick Santora was able to pretty much pick any of the books he liked for season 2. Hollywood icon Alan Ritchson, renowned for his memorable performances across numerous films, has captivated audiences with his versatile talents. Despite his widespread popularity, even a star of Ritchson’s magnitude has encountered setbacks in his career trajectory.
The disappointment among Ritchson’s dedicated fan base is palpable, particularly when considering the missed opportunities of two pivotal roles that could have further showcased his prowess.

After 20 years in the business, Alan Ritchson is finally having his moment. The actor is perfectly suited to his starring role in Prime Video's "Reacher," so much so you'd swear he was engineered in a lab for the sole purpose of bringing Lee Child's brawny blonde bruiser to life on the screen. It didn't come easy, though. After making some waves on "American Idol" and then popping up as Arthur Curry/Aquaman in a handful of "Smallville" episodes, Ritchson seemed primed to break out thanks to his role on the cult college football sitcom "Blue Mountain State." Instead, he spent most of the next decade serving as a third-tier player in various network shows and a handful of big-budget pictures.
Things might've gone very differently, had Ritchson landed the role of another blonde superhero beefcake. Not that long after being cast as the brash football captain Thad Castle on "Blue Mountain State,...

Thanks to the growing popularity of his Amazon Prime Video action thriller series “Reacher,” based on the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child, Alan Ritchson’s is starting to really take off. It’s only been on for two seasons but seemingly taken off in the last year and is quickly turning the 6 ft 2 actor into a star.

Thor was almost even bigger — from a muscle mass perspective, at least.
“Reacher” star Alan Ritchson told Men’s Health that he was the frontrunner for the MCU role back in 2011 — until he mailed in the audition.
“I didn’t take it seriously,” he said. “I was like, ‘They’ll throw me the part if I look like the guy; nobody really cares about acting.'”
It seems they did. After the audition, the casting directors told Ritchson’s team the role “had been his to lose,” as the magazine wrote, but Ritchson “hadn’t shown that he had ‘the craft.'” The rest is MCU (and Chris Hemsworth’s bank account’s) history. Hemsworth, it should be stated, is no slouch in the looks-like-Thor department either.
To his credit, Ritchson took the fallout from the flubbed audition far more seriously than the audition itself. He brought the “Avengers” scenes to an acting coach,...

Reacher‘s Alan Ritchson has soared to fame since getting cast in the Prime Video series based on the Lee Child crime novels. Alan Ritchson is now best known for ‘Fast X’ and ‘Reacher,’ a popular show based on Lee Child’s book series. He’s steadily rising as a major action star. But before landing big roles, Ritchson was just trying to break into Hollywood. He auditioned for the role of Marvel’s God of Thunder in the 2011 standalone movie ‘Thor.’ However, Ritchson admitted in his interview with Men’s Health that he didn’t take the role too seriously.
I didn’t take it seriously.I was like, They’ll throw me the part if I look like the guy; nobody really cares about acting.
This turned out to be wrong, as his audition for the role didn’t impress, and it eventually went to Hemsworth, who became iconic as the God of Thunder. It seems Ritchson was affected by this failed audition.

A reboot of cult comedy Blue Mountain State is on the cards, with the original creators and cast set to return.
Though the Tom Cruise films Jack Reacher and Jack Reacher: Never Go Back were fun, it is Alan Ritchson who has really defined the role of Reacher onscreen. Reacher recently finished airing its second season on Amazon Prime, and although the critical reception wasn’t as positive as the first, it is currently pressing ahead with season three, which will reportedly be based on author Lee Child’s seventh novel, Persuader. Before Alan Ritchson was Jack Reacher, he was Kevin “Thad” Castle, the Blue Mountain State football team captain in the cult TV comedy series. I’m not at all familiar with the series, but according to Deadline, Blue Mountain State is eyeing a comeback as a sequel series is being shopped.
Alan Ritchson would reprise his role for the Blue Mountain State sequel series, with Darin Brooks and Chris Romano also expected to return as Alex Moran and Sammy Cacciatore, respectively. The original series premiered on Spike TV (remember that?) in 2010 and aired for three seasons before it was cancelled. It followed three incoming freshmen attending Midwestern college football powerhouse Blue Mountain State who must quickly adapt to college life and juggle football, girls, classes, and nonstop hazing. Over the years, the series has gathered a cult following, even spawning a Kickstarter-funded follow-up movie, Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland.

Exploring the What-Ifs of Jack Reacher’s Continued Justice Tom Cruise’s foray into the world of Jack Reacher in 2012 opened up a universe brimming with potential, given the character’s depth and the wealth of source material from Lee Child’s novels. While the first film wasn’t a critical favorite, it garnered enough global interest to justify a sequel. Yet, one can’t help but wonder about the untapped opportunities for further sequels. With Cruise’s partnership with talents like Christopher McQuarrie, envisioning more tactical and cerebral narratives for Reacher seems like a missed chance for a series that could have blended action with...

Lee Child's "Jack Reacher" books are tasty slabs of red meat for those who prefer their pulpy action hard-boiled, providing readers with a motley collection of crime investigations, despicable bad guys, and a hero who's the sort of unstoppable force that could make an immovable object shuffle a little. And so far, Prime Video's "Reacher" has stayed largely faithful to that ethos. The show might not hold up under critical scrutiny, but it's not meant to. Child's original novels are page-turners designed to be consumed in a single go by anyone and everyone regardless of their familiarity with the greater franchise, and the series is cut squarely from the same cloth.
Be that as it may, those who invest themselves in the extended "Reacher" mythology will be rewarded for their efforts. Throughout extensive flashbacks, season 1 fleshes out Jack Reacher's backstory, starting with his days as a military brat...
