"Extracted" director Nir Paniry says, "When we love [films], we love them with all our heart. They seep into our hard-wiring like an old friend." Paniry has been working as a storyboard and comic artist for seven years, while moonlighting as a short filmmaker and screenwriter when time allowed. "Extracted" is his feature debut. What it's about: "Extracted" is a science fiction thriller about a man trapped in another man's past. Thomas Jacobs invents a way to watch people's memories from the inside. Going against his morals, he accepts an offer to enter a heroin addict's memories to literally see if he committed a crime. However, a malfunction causes his consciousness to become trapped inside the criminal's mind. The 2012 South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Conference and Festival runs March 9–17 in Austin, Texas, and now the full film program lineup has been announced. From a first glance at the list, it's pretty light on horror, but there are a few standouts.
In addition to the world premiere of Lionsgate’s The Cabin in the Woods as the Opening Night Film, which we already knew, here are the horror (and a few horror-ish or just very interesting sounding) highlights:

Extracted, the sci fi thriller Sasha Roiz filmed last year, will have its world premiere at the South By Southwest festival in Austin in March. Filmmaker Magazine has the full SXSW lineup, announced earlier today.
Extracted will be screened in the Emerging Visions section. The date/venue info hasn't been posted yet, but it will probably show up on the film's page on SXSW.com one of these days.
This year, the festival runs from March 9 to 17.

Eric Stoltz will guest star in the season premiere of Leverage, titled "The Long Way Down Job," according to an interview with Aldis Hodge (one of the show's stars).
The episode airs on Sunday, June 26 on TNT.
And if your kids are dragging you to the theatre this weekend, you can also catch Eric in the Judy Moody movie, which opens today. L.A. Times says he makes a cameo.
