- Defensive tackle for Philadelphia Eagles from 1987-1991, making the Pro Bowl following the 1990 and 1991 seasons.
- Brown and his nephew, Gus, were both killed in an auto accident on June 25, 1992, Brown's Corvette skidded off a slippery road and crashed, killing both instantly.
- On September 6, 1992, Brown's memory was honored before the Philadelphia Eagles' season opener vs. the New Orleans Saints. During the ceremony, linebacker Seth Joyner and defensive end Reggie White announced no Eagle would ever wear Brown's number 99 again. The team did not initially plan on retiring the number, but decided to after the announcement by White and Joyner.
