The International Film Festival of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia's most important film event, announced the winners for its 55th edition. The top prize in the narrative competition went to Guatemala's "Ixcanul" by Jairo Bustamante, which after its triumph in Berlin has become a festival hit. However, the Brazilian feature "White Out, Black In"(Branco Sai, Preto Fica) took home both the Special Jury Prize and the Fipresci Award, becoming the big winner at the festival. Notable Colombian winners include documentaries "Letter to a Shadow" and "Tea Time" (also honored in Miami) and narrative feature "The Silence of the River." Here is the full list of winners.

Pickpocket drama from Girl With a Pearl Earring director is one of 33 film projects in development being presented at the Bogota Audiovisual Market (Bam).
Filmmakers will begin talks with potential partners in Bogota today at the fifth edition of Bam (July 14-18), Colombia’s biggest film market, organised by the Bogota Chamber of Commerce and Proimagenes Colombia
The projects include Fresh, a new film to be directed by Peter Webber, who made Oscar-nominated Girl With a Pearl Earring and more recently Emperor.
The feature is being produced by Colombia’s 4Direcciones Audio-Visual, which has raised nearly 25% of its estimated $2.5m budget, and centres on a teenage pickpocket against the backdrop of hip hop and graffiti in Bogota.
The project, which is hunting co-production, investors and distribution partners, was previously selected for Rotterdam’s Cinemart and the Berlinale Co-production market.

The Sundance Documentary Composers Lab has selected seven docu filmmakers to bring their four film projects to this year's program.
Melanie Judd and Susan Motamed's Ethiopian orphan chronicle Adopt Me Michael Jordan, Tony Gerber and Jesse Moss' Iraq War training camp study Full Battle Rattle, Miguel Salazar and Margarita Martinez's Colombian civil resistance chronicle Peaceful Warriors and Edet Belzberg's The Army Recruiter will be workshopped. This year's creative advisors include My Country, My Country producer Laura Poitras and Protagonist director Jessica Yu.
