When putting together the new Netflix series “The Recruit,” creator and showrunner Alexi Hawley said it was “important” for him to show a diverse cast as well as fill his writers room with talent from all backgrounds.

“To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” breakout Noah Centineo takes a starring role in the new Netflix series “The Recruit,” but he’s far from the only familiar face in the show. The original series hails from “The Rookie” creator Alexi Hawley and follows a young CIA lawyer whose first week on the job goes topsy turvy when he’s contacted by a woman claiming to be a former asset who’s threatening to expose secrets. Oh, and she’s in prison for murder. Twists and turns abound in the eight-episode first season, but if you’re curious how you know the actors populating this new show, we’ve got you covered.

If anyone had any doubts about the power of Noah Centineo, Netflix’s “The Recruit” will put those to rest. The actor had a brief stint as the internet’s boyfriend when he starred as Peter Kazinsky in Netflix’s “To All the Boys” franchise, and recently appeared as a superhero in the Justice Society of America in “Black Adam,” but now, he gets the chance to prove that he’s a true leading man. In fact, he’s so charming in “The Recruit” that his charm is all the show really needs to be entertaining. Is this really what lawyers do at the CIA? I have no idea, and it kind of doesn’t matter. This show isn’t really about lawyers.

The Recruit is a new Netflix series starring Noah Centineo. It is written and created by Alexi Hawley.
Eight episodes of political intrigue and Geo-political machinations through which newbie CIA lawyer/agent has to navigate.
Premise The Recruit (2022-)
Owen Hendricks, a fledgling lawyer at the CIA that becomes enmeshed in dangerous international power politics when a former asset threatens to expose the nature of her long-term relationship with the agency unless they exonerate her of a serious crime.
About the Series
One might be conned into thinking that this is a comedy series, despite having been advertised as a thriller, action and adventure series. The initial scenes in the first episode are more reminiscent of The Office (2005-2012) than any other more somber spy themed TV show. The score certainly assists in lightening the mood, with its Get Smart‘ish melodies – however more contemporary.

The internet's love affair with Noah Centineo began somewhere between "The Fosters" and "To All The Boys I've Loved Before," both of which followed lovestruck teenage boys navigating classic high school drama. But ever since that Netflix trilogy came to a close, Centineo has been changing up his image to leave those schoolboy days behind. Shaving his head? Check. Co-starring in a superhero movie? Check. Taking the lead as a hero? Almost check. Bagging a crime thriller instead? That works! So I guess it's official — between his "Black Adam" stint as the young metahuman Atom Smasher and his upcoming role in Netflix's "The Recruit," Centineo has entered his action star era.
Inevitably, it's always hard to accept the next chapter of an actor's career, but that feels especially true for the performers whose signature role is a doe-eyed teenage boy. Personally, Centineo still falls in the same bucket as Tom Holland...

"Don't get cute. Do your business, and get out." Good luck, young one! Netflix has revealed an official trailer for a darkly comedic suspense series titled The Recruit, created by Alexi Hawley, of the "State of Affairs", "Castle", and "The Rookie" series previously. This one is about a young lawyer, not your typical CIA series, considering it's about someone trying to deal with the CIA's (internal) dirty laundry. A fledgling lawyer at the CIA, played by Noah Centineo (from To All the Boys I've Loved Before & Charlie's Angels), becomes enmeshed in dangerous international power politics when a former asset threatens to expose the nature of her long-term relationship with the agency unless they exonerate her of a serious crime. The series' cast also includes Laura Haddock, Aarti Mann, Colton Dunn, Fivel Stewart, Vondie Curtis Hall, Daniel Quincy Annoh, Kristian Bruun, Byron Mann, Angel Parker, & Kaylah Zander. I was not expecting to be into this,...

"Three girls named Sharon...?" Epic Pictures Group has released the official trailer for Sharon 1.2.3., a dating comedy from filmmaker/screenwriter Mark Brown (who wrote the original script for Barbershop and its sequels). The film is about a nerd who has become very wealthy running a tech company (what an original idea for a character). He's now dating two beautiful, older, women, both named Sharon, and things get even crazier when he meets a third woman named Sharon. Why does this seem like the most cliche nerd fantasy ever? Matt Bush stars as Jonah, and the full cast includes Nadine Velazquez & Erinn Hayes & Skyler Samuels as the three Sharons, along with Gina Rodriguez, Aarti Mann, Vik Sahay, and Will Harris.
