- Xi Mei was born in 1911 in Wujin, Jiangsu, China. He was an actor, known for Chang hen ge (1936), Hong lou meng (1945) and La hua shi jie (1935). He died in 1983 in Beijing, China.
- One of China's most popular leading men of the 1930s, his career came to a temporary halt after World War II, during which time he made over 40 films that were clearly collaborationist. However, when the Communists came to power in 1949, he was permitted to return to the movie industry as a director, and later a character actor.
