Basia Emano (nee Staszel) was born in the mountainous region near
Zakopane, Poland, before migrating to the flatlands of the Midwest. Now
a full-fledged Chicagoan, Basia's passion for the arts and humanities
has propelled her through life with an ever-increasing sense of
commitment to her community and culture. Her internship at the Illinois
Film Office launched her into a 35-year trek through the film,
television and theater industries. Her zeal and enthusiasm are
refreshed daily. Between managing the aspiring careers of her children,
she has worked in numerous film and television roles. She served as
Casting Director for the independent film "Dog Jack," and her resume
includes film credits for "Batman Begins," "Spiderman II," "Drunkboat,"
"What Women Want" and "A League of Their Own." She has added to
television series such as "Chicago Fire," "Chicago Med," "Chicago PD," "Judge Alex," "Cristina's Court," "Texas
Justice" and "Rozmowy w Toku." She simultaneously filled the role of
Marketing Director for the Lira Ensemble (a not-for-profit professional
performing arts company comprised of a symphony, female vocal ensemble,
a chamber chorus, a children's chorus and a dance company) and has
contributed to the film "Jerzy, Popieluszko: Messenger of the Truth" produced by the
famed and multi-talented Paul Hensler ("Star Wars"). On the horizon,
Ms. Emano has several independent film projects that she is excited
to begin.
