Hang onto your ear holes! You can finally add “made someone in the audience puke” to the growing list of accolades recommending “Dream Creep.”
Among the best and buzziest ideas to come out of the festival circuit this year, writer/director Carlos A.F. Lopez’s brilliant horror short — about a couple awakened in the night to “sounds emanating from an unlikely orifice” — debuted at Sundance in January. Since then, it has won Scariest Short at The Overlook Film Festival and snagged the special mention for Worst Nightmare at Palm Springs ShortFest. “Dream Creep” has also screened at South by Southwest and other shorts showcases where its nightmarish reputation as “That ear movie” tends to precede it.
“I’ve had this idea for a long time,” Lopez told IndieWire, describing an epiphany he had while sleeping next to his wife, executive producer Cathy Lopez. “It sprang very organically from me waking...

Already a long history with the fest, Calvin Reeder has premiered his features at the fest in The Oregonian (Sundance ’11) and The Rambler (Sundance ’13), and loaded up his shorts there as well in Little Farm (Sundance ’07), The Rambler (Sundance ’08) and his last project which birthed a sequel. Sight unseen, we already feel bad for what Christian Palmer’s character might endure and we feel good about the 180 seconds of bliss. A Kickstarter funded project, shooting took place this fall.

"You'll need the support of all five boroughs." Vertical Ent. has debuted a second official trailer for crime thriller Gotti, spanning three decades telling the story of legendary crime boss John Gotti Sr., as played by John Travolta. The story focuses on Gotti's rise to power in New York, as well as his wife Victoria Gotti, played by Kelly Preston, along with his son John Gotti Jr., played by Spencer Lofranco. This film was slated as a last minute premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, which seems like an odd pick. It was originally set to open last December, but has been held until this June. The full cast includes Stacy Keach, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Megan Leonard, Lydia Hull, William DeMeo, Tyler Jon Olson, Leo Rossi, and Ella Bleu Travolta. This seems like a big film, and Travolta looks menacing, but I'm not excited at all to see it. Here's...

"I will build something that nobody can destroy." Lionsgate has released the first official trailer for a new crime thriller titled Gotti, spanning three decades telling the story of legendary crime boss John Gotti Sr., as played by John Travolta. The pitch for this makes it seem like it wants to be the next Godfather, but the footage does not live up to that comparison. Travolta actually looks good in the role, but the rest of it doesn't seem that impressive to me, yet another typical mob crime biopic. Here's the...

Hayden Christensen's career never really took off the way he expected it to after he made those Star Wars prequel films. Delivering that ridiculous dialogue that George Lucas came up with for the film didn't do him any favors.
Regardless, he seems like a decent actor from all the other films I've seen him in, and now he's got a couple new projects coming out. One is a solid looking film called Numb, At The Edge of The End. The other is called First Kill, which sees him team up with Bruce Willis to rescue his son from a really bad dude. Here's the synopsis for First Kill:
Will (Christensen) is a Wolf of Wall Street who takes his family for a retreat at the cabin where he grew up. After witnessing a shooting in the woods, though, his young son Danny (Ty Shelton, in his film debut...

"Let go of my son right now!" Lionsgate Premiere has unveiled the first trailer for an action thriller titled First Kill, from director Steven C. Miller, of the films Marauders and Arsenal most recently. It looks like Hayden Christensen is back! First time we've seen him in years, also in the trailer for Numb, at the Edge of the End from last week. Christensen stars as a Wall Street broker who ends up with his family in the small town where he grew up. When they witness a murder, the criminals take his son hostage, and he must help them get free in order to save his family. Bruce Willis stars as the local police chief, and the cast includes Ty Shelton, Gethin Anthony, Megan Leonard, & William DeMeo. This looks forgettable, if you ask me. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Steven C. Miller's First Kill, originally from...
