Monty was framed.
Those are the damning words spray painted onto doors at Liberty High in the final season of “13 Reasons Why” that set the final season’s drama in action, as revealed in the official trailer Netflix released Wednesday.
Monty, or Montgomery de la Cruz (Timothy Granaderos) was the violent teenager who raped Tyler (Devin Druid) and constantly bullied a number of other classmates, as well. He died in the third season of the show, which kept him unable from being able to to deny the accusations that he killed Bryce Walker (Justin Prentice).
But now it appears someone out there is not Ok with him taking the fall for that particular crime.

Get ready to bust out your cassette tape player for a breath of nostalgia: The fourth and final season of “13 Reasons Why” will launch June 5, Netflix announced Monday.
In the final season, Liberty High School’s senior class is preparing for graduation, but of course before they can actually say goodbye to each other and their school, they will have to keep a dangerous secret buried, as well as face “heartbreaking choices” that may impact their futures forever.
The final season of the young adult drama that was originally based on Jay Asher’s 2007 novel of the same name will consist of 10 episodes. The highly anticipated season three of 13 Reasons Why drops on Aug. 23 and although she remains behind the scenes, Selena Gomez is still involved in the series. The singer referred to it as "a passion project" in 2017, and in addition to actively promoting the show on social media, she also spent time with its stars during and post-production. After season one premiered, Gomez, Alisha Boe (who plays Jessica Davis), and Tommy Dorfman (who plays Ryan Shaver) got matching semicolon tattoos to symbolize suicide awareness and prevention.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gomez is still an executive producer along with her mom, Mandy Teefey, and Joy Gorman, Kristel Laiblin, and the late Steve Golin for Anonymous Content. On Aug. 1 she retweeted the season three trailer, but Gomez hasn't been as publicly involved as she was at the series' outset. "I haven't seen Selena," star Anne Winters (who plays Chlöe Rice) told Us Weekly in December.

Netflix’s drama 13 Reasons Why has been handed a fourth and final season ahead of the launch of Season 3, which has been set for August 23. Watch the trailer above, which unveils a major character death at the center of the new season’s plot.
The Svod service also revealed today that the fourth season, which is already in production, will be its last.
This comes after Netflix made the decision last month to edit a scene from the Season 1 finale that depicted one of the characters taking her own life. The nearly three-minute scene, which showed actress Katherine Langford’s character Hannah take a razor blade to one of her wrists while sitting in a bathtub, was edited following complaints. It’s understood that there will be no scenes of suicide in Season 3, which consists of 13 episodes.

Spoiler Alert: This post contains a spoiler for the end of “13 Reasons Why” Season 2.
The team behind Netflix’s “13 Reasons Why” can’t help but notice the “eerie” parallels there seem to be between its series and the recent Senate testimonies of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford.
Kristel Laiblin, an executive producer on the series, said Ford’s testimony that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her in high school reminded her of “13 Reasons Why’s” Season 1 storyline in which Jessica Davis (Alisha Boe) was raped by classmate Bryce Walker, who is protected by his friend, and later, when he is arrested, receives only three months’ probation in Season 2.
“When Dr. Ford was explaining what happened to her in that room, six people that day said, ‘I kept thinking of that scene with Jessica on your show in Season 1,'” she said. “And me too — and that’s...

We can hardly contain our excitement for the upcoming season two premiere of the Netflix Original series 13 Reasons Why! The mind-blowing first season left us with such a hunger to see what else was in store for the students of Liberty High, especially the fate of our hero Clay Jensen and his recovery for the devastating loss of Hannah Baker.
We were left with so many questions after season one, like what will the fate be for accused rapist Bryce Walker and has school photographer Tyler Down been sent over the edge?
While season one focused on the suicide and tapes left by student Hannah Baker, how much will she play are prominent role in season two? Will Jessica Davis ever heal from the aftermath of her assault and what in the world happened to Alex Standall?
We are thrilled to share the full length trailer for season two of 13 Reasons Why,...

Netflix is continuing it’s impressive streak of quality shows. This year already saw A Series of Unfortunate Events dominate pop culture conversation, and as we know, Netflix has the ambitious goal to increase their original content. As such, there's a whole lot more where that came from. On that list of new shows is 13 Reasons Why, a series from executive producers Tom McCarthy, Brian Yorkey, Selena Gomez, Joy Gorman, and Kristen Laiblin.
You’ll likely recognize at least one of those names, and if you’re a film fan, perhaps even two. The first name you may recognize, of course, is former Disney star Selena Gomez. In fact, this entire thing is the pet project between her, her mother, and Laiblin, who originally planned on adapting the novel of the same name into a film.

It still hasn’t found a readership on the scale of John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars or Gayle Forman’s If I Stay, but Jay Asher’s Thirteen Reasons Why is one of the finest Ya novels to emerge in the past decade – as well as one that deserves serious praise for its willingness to grapple with the heavy topic of teen suicide in an uncompromisingly honest way. That’s why it’s so exciting to learn today that Netflix is committing to a 13-episode miniseries adaptation of the novel exec-produced by teen idol Selena Gomez.
Asher’s book centered on a high schooler named Clay (yet to be cast), who is stunned one night to receive a shoe-box filled with cassette tapes from his classmate and crush, Hannah (reportedly played by Gomez), who recently took her own life. Listening, Clay is stunned to hear Hannah’s voice,...

Found footage. With low budget success stories for the bigger studios, this medium is here to stay. Now Universal is looking to tap into the same vein of gold that others have with the new flick Thirteen.
According to Variety, Universal has pre-emptively bought Thirteen, a spec by Benjamin Magid, and set it up with Uni-based Strike Entetrainment and Brooklyn Weaver at Energy Entertainment.
Veteran production exec Kristel Laiblin brought the project in to Strike's Eric Newman and will oversee. Thirteen centers on possession and is understood to utilize a mixture of found footage point of views. The story is reminiscent of 1990's Flatliners, which starred Julia Roberts and Kiefer Sutherland as medical school students experimenting with the line between life and death.
The sale closed Friday night. More as it comes.

Justin Timberlake has his next project. The Social Network star will be along side Amanda Seyfried in the thriller Now. Sounds like we’re going to have to believe both actors can’t age beyond 25 years old. Yeah, I’m buying.
Here’s the news release …
New Regency has begun production on Andrew Niccol’s thriller Now, starring Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried.
Niccol, whose credits include the screenplay for The Truman Show, directs from his original screenplay. The film is produced by Eric Newman (Children of Men), Niccol and Marc Abraham (Children of Men). Executive producers are Andrew Z. Davis (Red Dragon), Kristel Laiblin (Children of Men) and Amy Israel (Shall We Dance).
Now presents a world where time has become the ultimate currency. You stop aging at 25, but there’s a catch: you’re genetically-engineered to live only one more year, unless you can buy your way out of it.
