[Editor’s note: The following post contains spoilers for “Uncharted.”]
Packed with the star power of Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, a massive $120 million budget, and a generous array of video games (and more!) to pull from for future outings, it seems like there’s nothing Sony and director Ruben Fleischer would love more than to build a globe-trotting, treasure-hunting cinematic franchise out of their first “Uncharted” film. After more than a decade in development, the immensely popular Naughty Dog video game is finally making its big screen debut in the form of an ostensible origin story, all the better to delight old fans and snag new ones. And, yes, to quite clearly set up for more films to come.
While a sequel to the film has not yet been announced, the film’s final moments sure behave like the start of a brand-new cinematic franchise, complete with a pair of post-credits scenes, typically reserved for superhero features and the like.

As The Fighter arrives in the UK, David O Russell talks a little more about what may be his next project, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. Is Scarlett Johansson set to appear?
Following up the hard-hitting, crowd-pleasing boxing movie The Fighter, which has secured no fewer than seven Oscar nominations, director David O Russell's set to direct the videogame adaptation, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.
Marking a distinct change of pace for Russell, Uncharted is, if the games its based on are anything to go by, likely to be a effervescent, family action adventure in the Indiana Jones mould, a far cry from the stylish Gulf War drama, Three Kings, or the philosophical comedy of I ♥ Huckabees.
Since news of Russell's attachment to Uncharted bubbled up last October, we've heard reports that Mark Wahlberg will be settling into the lead role as Nathan Drake, a controversial choice for many, as Nathan Fillion was...

David O Russell’s all set to adapt the hit videogame Uncharted Drake’s Fortune. And it looks as though Mark Wahlberg is definitely in line to play Nathan Drake...
It was inevitable wasn't it? Despite strong support for Nathan Fillion and Stargate's Joe Flanigan to take the role of adventurer Nathan Drake in the Uncharted movie adaptation, it looks as though director David O Russell has given the role to his old pal Mark Wahlberg.
The pair have previously worked together on Three Kings and I Heart Huckabees, and as soon as Russell was named as director, Wahlberg was rumoured to be lined up for the role.
The story was broken by MTV, to whom Wahlberg said, "The idea that he has is just insane, so hopefully we'll be making that movie this summer."
Wahlberg also made reference to his co-stars in the movie, none other than Goodfellas and...

On February 15th and 25th, Nathan Drake fans will be getting a much needed Dlc boost. On February 15th the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves title update 1.05 will come out that will add 12 multiplayer trophies and 12 new multiplayer medals.
Shortly after that update, on February 25th, as we said before, there will be some new pay Dlc. A $2.99 skin pack, so when you play multiplayer you can be the Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune versions of Drake, Elena, Atog Navarro, Eddie Raja, Gabriel Roman and Javier, the enemy pirate. Separately, for $3.99 you can purchase a map pack containing boards based on Drake’s Fortune. The Facility, the submarine pens from the first game, and The Flooded Ruins, based on the customs house. You can save a dollar buy getting the bundle of maps and skins for $5.99.
This should bring some life into Uncharted 2’s multiplayer aspect and try to get some PS...

Earlier today, it was revealed that Columbia is taking steps to bring the PlayStation 3-exclusive video game “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune” to the silver screen. As a fairly obsessive gamer, I have to say that I’m very pleased with this news.
Granted, game-to-movie adaptations don’t have the best of track records. “Uncharted” is a special case though. The game continues to be lauded for its tight narrative and blockbuster-style delivery. If there’s a game out there that could simply be carried over into the passive entertainment space of film, it’s this one. But which actors would be best for which parts in the coming adaptation?
Nathan Drake
A descendant of Sir Francis Drake, Nathan Drake is cast as an atypical action hero. He’s a ruggedly attractive dude, sure. But he’s a little bit clumsy, a little bit bumbling and not terribly tactful. Elisabeth already...

Every video game adaptation that’s put on the path to the big screen leaves you hoping that this will be the one to break the crappy gaming movie curse (”The Wizard” notwithstanding). While my hope remains pinned on Mike Newell’s upcoming “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,” there may also be hope in the form of “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Columbia is developing a live-action adaptation of “Fortune.” Kyle Ward is to pen the script; if the name sounds familiar, that’s because he was mentioned here just yesterday in association with the upcoming “Hitman 2.” No director has been set, but Avi Arad, Charles Roven, Ari Arad and Alex Gartner are producing.
The game follows Nate Drake, an Indiana Jones-styled treasure hunter and descendant of the famous Sir Francis Drake. Nate believes he’s discovered the fabled golden city of El Dorado thanks to a cursed statue.
