Miley Cyrus who was accused by a Jamaican songwriter for stealing her 2013 smash "We Can't Stop" from a similar song he recorded earlier, has finally settled a $300 million (?229.24 million) copyright infringement lawsuit.
Michael May, who performs as Flourgon, had sued Miley in March 2018, claiming that her song "We Can't Stop" closely resembled his 1988 track "We Run Things," which he called a reggae favourite since reaching No. 1 in his home country.

May blamed Cyrus and her label RCA Records for stealing lines from his 1988 song and misappropriating material including the phrase "We run things. Things no run we," which she sang as "We run things. Things don't run we."
May, Cyrus and other defendants filed a joint stipulation on Friday, at the Manhattan federal court, dismissing the lawsuit with prejudice, which meant it cannot be brought to court again.

I was watching the bootleg version of “Jurassic Park”. Spielberg got hammered and made an alternate version of the talking parts of the picture, which I now have a copy of. Yikes. Miley Cyrus and her label, RCA Records, were just slammed with a $300 million copyright infringement lawsuit from Jamaican songwriter Michael May because of her 2013 hit track, "We Can't Stop." Michael — who goes by the stage name Flourgon — said Miley's song is way too similar to his musical work, "We Run Things," which was recorded nearly 30 years ago. The suit was filed on March 13, 2018, in federal court in New York. Micheal claimed Miley's use of the phrase, "We run things. Things don't run we," is exactly like the phrase he created in 1988, "We run things. Things no run we." A post shared by Miley Cyrus (@mileycyrus) on Mar 13, 2018 at 4:13pm Pdt The complaint stated that without Michael's original phrase or influence, "the entire theme of 'We Can't Stop' would be hollow in sound and impact." Not only that but the suit also said, "[Cyrus' song] owes the basis of its chart-topping...

Miley Cyrus has been slapped with a lawsuit alleging that her 2013 tune “We Can’t Stop” rips off an earlier song by a Jamaican composer. In his suit, filed Tuesday in federal court in New York, Michael May, aka Flourgon, says that he wrote the song “We Run Things” in the ’80s, and that the song was a No. 1 hit in Jamaica, and “was additionally met with great acclaim in the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States of America.” (You can hear it above.) May’s song contains the phrase ‘We run things. Things no run we.'” Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop,”...

Last night’s season finale of One Tree Hill was not just about goodbyes but growing up and reconnecting. The execution of setting an hour long episode, the season finale in particular into a year time span was brilliant.
Viewers first started following Chase (Stephen Colletti) from the moment he said goodbye to Alex (Jana Kramer) and attempted to say goodbye to Chuck (Michael May) as he left for the Air Force. Having Chuck not say goodbye to Chase but see him leave made for a far less emotional goodbye than what may have been expected. It was still heartfelt but very simple and bittersweet. Not bitter but not sweet either was seeing Chase hold up a magazine with Alex on the cover with another man. A picture may say a thousands words, but those words are not always correct. So even though it was quite pleasant watching Chase catch...

There have been many times over the course of One Tree Hill's eight seasons when they have unnecessarily made every second on screen seem not only important, but epic in nature. "This Is My House, This Is My Home" certainly straddled that line, but was effective for two reasons.
First of all, unlike some episodes that came before it, much of what happened in this season finale was very important. And secondly, when this was being created it could have been their series finale. The constant dramatic music combined with powerful stories was a necessity for the last ever episode of One Tree Hill.
Fortunately for us fans, word has been received from The CW that we will be getting a ninth and final season next year. That should give them plenty of time to wrap up the stories that were either teased or wrapped up poorly in "This Is My House.

One Tree Hill‘s eighth season comes to a close this Tuesday at 8/7c, and with the series’ future still up in the air (well, kind of), cast member Stephen Colletti believes The CW soap has earned at least one more year.
“One Tree Hill — and it’s fans — is something that deserves a farewell season,” Colletti, who plays Chase, Tric’s bar manager, tells TVLine.
In fact, big things lie ahead for the show’s onetime “Clean Teen,” which makes the actor’s desire to keep Tree Hill alive all the more apparent. “There’s a lot going on with Chase,...

One word that stands out in the title of this episode is “flightless.” This episode never really took off. The ladies took flight to Puerto Rico for Quinn’s (Shantel VanSanten) photo shoot, but outside of the beautiful views and revelation to Quinn of Brooke’s (Sophia Bush) pregnancy, this story line seemed to lack great depth. It is refreshing to see characters go on vacation without being involved in drama, but there needed to be more heart. Time in Puerto Rico seemed to be spent more on Quinn and her model as well as Lauren (Allison Munn) being drunk than it did plot points as significant as Brooke’s pregnancy. Since when is Lauren great friends with Quinn?
Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) stayed behind in Tree Hill to care after her newborn…and turn the Clothes Over Bros closed store back into Karen’s Cafe. Now this was probably...

I commend One Tree Hill for how it handled the River Court story in "Flightless Bird, American Mouth." On a show that is quite melodramatic to begin with, it easily could have taken a plot about the memorable historic landmark of the town and gone way over the top with it.
Instead the series used a camping session, Clay's out of left field quirkiness, and the continued evolution of the Chase and Chuck relationship, to lay the ground work for what ended up being a really sweet moment for the court, the show, and Marvin McFadden.
I was glad that the one person still on the program regularly who actually grew up on the River Court was able to shine in that moment. Sure, Nathan trained with Q for about a fraction of a second on that court, but he spent his entire life in the gym or in his driveway.

Plus, Stephen tells us Chase will Finally choose between Mia & Alex! Which girl you think he should pick?
One Tree Hill fans were thrown for a loop (pun intended) last week when “bar manager” Chase (Stephen Colletti) revealed his plans to leave Tree Hill and join the Air Force! But is he really taking off for good? “Chase has some big decisions to make,” Stephen tells HollywoodLife.com. “Whether or not he decides to go into the Air Force will definitely play out. He’ll be faced with: Does he leave and hurt all these people, or does he stay and not be true to himself?”
And it sounds like Chase’s big-brother relationship with Chuck (Michael May) will play a major role in his decision.

All three holiday-themed episodes of One Tree Hill this season have been extremely enjoyable. Both Halloween and Thanksgiving were successes, and this week's "Valentine's Day Is Over" definitely did not stray from that pattern.
I usually start out with what did Not work, so let's change things up and take a look at the positives: The Chase/Chuck dynamic continues to be a highlight. I once again give props to Stephen Colletti, but let me also mention what a great job young actor Michael May has done the past few weeks.
He has always portrayed the rude annoying little kid well, but making him a show tune lover that has a drunk for a mother and a father that ran away just ups the ante for this character and rising star.
It has been an enjoyable two episode arc, starting with Chase just wanting to be a big brother to someone,...
