Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s attempts to deflect and avoid giving honest and straight answers about President Donald Trump’s Ukraine quid pro quo scandal died a horrible death on Sunday during his appearance on ABC News’ The Week.
Host George Stephanopoulos asked the secretary if it was appropriate to withhold military aid to Ukraine until they pursued an investigation into the president’s political rivals. Stephanopoulos was referring to acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney admitting to the quid pro quo earlier this week. Pompeo said, “I’m...

Updated with ATA response: Verve has signed the WGA’s new Code of Conduct, the biggest win yet in the guild’s campaign to “divide and conquer” the agency business. Verve is not a member of the Association of Talent Agents, but its signing makes it the biggest lit agency to sign the code so far.
It also allows hundreds of Verve’s clients who fired their agents last month to return to the agency; at last count, more than 7,000 writers have fired their agents who have refused to sign. The signing announced Thursdsay also opens the door to other mid-level agencies to follow suit. Sources say several other mid-sized agencies have been in talks with the guild, including at least one that is a member of the Ata.
Verve’s signing makes it the 70th agency to sign the code, only one of which, Pantheon, is an Ata member.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R.-Ohio) is many things: an ardent climate change denier, a fierce opponent of reproductive rights, an advocate for “traditional” marriage and a staunch defender of the President’s right to straight-up lie to the American people. He is also alleged to be something else: an ignorer of rampant campus sexual abuse, per 2018 reports that Jordan turned a blind eye to Ohio State University wrestlers’ allegations against a team doctor during his time as an assistant coach at Osu. (In 2018, Ohio State hired a law firm to...

Military-focused publication Task & Purpose is facing what one insider has described as a “mutiny,” after the site’s acting editor-in-chief publicly resigned on Wednesday over a conflict with website publisher Zach Iscol.
Adam Weinstein, a senior editor at the site, who had been serving as de facto editor-in-chief, said he quit after Iscol demanded a headline change over a story about the Veterans Affairs administration.
