Time for your first look at some of the goings-on around the set of the now filming Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. That's right, kids! Right now we have people wearing dots. Plenty of dots. There's even one of star Andy Serkis wearing dots.
The flick stars Andy Serkis, Keri Russell, Kodi-Smit McPhee, Judy Greer, William Clarke, and Gary Oldman. Fox’s upcoming sequel is set 15 years after the events of Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The plot is for the most part under wraps, but we do know two aspects of it... One focus is on the group of human scientists who are struggling to survive alone in San Francisco. Another aspect of the story is the struggle of intelligent ape Caesar, played by Serkis, to maintain dominance over his kingdom.
Matt Reeves, stepping into the shoes originally worn by Rupert Wyatt, is directing the sequel to Fox’s 2011 hit.

More casting news has come in for Fox's sequel to their surprise hit Rise of the Planet of the Apes, entitled Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, as yet another actor has signed on to don the motion capture dots!
Vulture reports that Judy Greer (pictured) will slip on the mo-cap suit to play the female chimp Cornelia. "For so long I haven't been able to say anything about it so this is exciting," Greer tells the site. Cornelia was briefly introduced in the first film (where she was played by dancer Devyn Dalton) as a potential love interest to Andy Serkis' lead ape Caesar, but the role will be expanded in the Matt Reeves–directed sequel. "It's a very different kind of work than I'm used to," admitted Greer. "I'm not going to be wearing Manolo Blahniks in this one."
The flick also stars Andy Serkis, Keri Russell,...

The Devil’S Business
Stars: Jack Gordon, Billy Clarke, Jonathan Hansler, Harry Miller | Written and Directed by Sean Hogan
Some of the most powerful films come from a well written story, good direction and above all believable characters. They don’t rely on huge special effects, they don’t even have to have many settings, like a play in a theatre they can simply have a few rooms and a script that pulls you into the plot and leaves you begging for more. The Devil’s Business is one of those and for the most part does what it sets out to do very well indeed.
Two hitmen wait in a house for the owner to come back. As they wait they talk about what it means to do the job, how to be professional and above all how to do the job good. The older hitman is teaching the younger what he knows,...

Writer-director Sean Hogan made an impression with his debut in 2005, Lie Still (also known as The Haunting of #24), and has been one to watch in the horror genre ever since.
Hogan returns behind the camera with The Devil’s Business, which has been earning buzz over the past year doing the festival circuit, and we’ve now got a world exclusive new clip from the film ahead of its release in the UK this month.
“Two hit men are sent to murder an old associate of their underworld boss. But things are not all what they seem in their quarry’s house and the discovery of a make-shift black magic altar – and its shocking sacrifice – sends the uncomprehending duo into the shadowy darkness of their own tortured souls and terrifying confrontations with their worst primal fears.
Brilliantly acted, solidly crafted and exuding a palpable atmosphere of claustrophobic dread, this eerily...

Earlier this year, Sean Hogan collaborated with Simon Rumley (The Living and the Dead, Red, White and Blue) for the film Little Deaths. Hogan brings a new film to Fantastic Fest called The Devil’s Business. Completely shot on the Canon 5D Dslr, The Devil’s Business tells a story of a couple of hit men that enter their target’s house to carry out the hit. Unfortunately for them, this target is a little different than their typical subjects.
Cully (Jack Gordon), a relatively green hitman, tries to use this job as an opportunity to learn more about his partner, a veteran, Mr. Pinner (Billy Clarke). While Pinner puts Cully in check most of the time, they actually learn more about each other than I think either wants to know. Among this, they discover that the man they are ordered to kill might possibly deal with the occult. When the job gets completed,...

A man sits in a chair, talking. His name is Pinder (Billy Clarke) and he's telling a story for the benefit of Cully (Jack Gordon), his young associate. Though it's late at night, and Pinder relates the details in a calm, even voice, it's anything but a bedtime story, for Pinder and Cully are assassins, and they are waiting for their target to return home so they can kill him. From that simple set-up, writer/director Sean Hogan develops a feeling of unease that turns on a dime into something other, perhaps the occult, perhaps hocus-pocus, but definitely something that's very, very odd for two common criminals to discover while they're invading a posh home for the purposes of murder. By choice or force of...
