Aanonsen began his career at the Norwegian Broadcast Corp (NRK) in 1986 as a trainee and later enjoyed 10 successful years in Eureka Film & TV producing corporate films, commercials and documentaries. In 1998 he founded Indie Film and has since dedicated his time solely to documentaries. Carsten is a 2006 EAVE Master Class graduate and has received various awards over the years, among them The Red Cross Humanitarian Award 2004 for The Institution and the Amanda award 2011 for the feature doc Pushwagner. Carsten is the first Norwegian producer to be invited to pitch at both Good Pitch Europe and Hot Docs Forum.
