- Dom was born in St Albans, Herts, in 1988 to mother Wendy and father Nigel. He has Brittle Bones (Osteogenesis Imperfecta), a condition that means he is of small stature and can break relatively easily. He uses a powered wheelchair for his mobility as well as driving an adapted car to get around.
Music has been a part of Dom's life since he was born, with it being something that is in the family. As a child Dom enjoyed hitting pots and pans until at the age of 6, his parents decided that channeling his energy into learning to play Classical Snare Drum would be a good step up as well as a good way of building strength in his arms.
Dom continued to get tuition in Classical Snare until the age of 14, during which time he explored the other realms of percussion, principally Latin, Blues, Funk, Jazz and Samba. At this point he branched out into tuned percussion, getting lessons in Xylophone and Timpani as well as developing his abilities in many other musical and rhythmic styles.
After Studying Music and Music Technology as part of his A Levels, Dom went to Warwick University to read Business Management, hoping to follow a path into the world of Advertising whilst continuing to play a great deal of music.
On arrival, he founded the Warwick Drumming Society and became a percussionist to the Internationally award winning University of Warwick Big Band for which he still plays today.
Prior to University, Dom and his close friends from School traveled around Europe by rail, a journey which was documented and adapted into the Channel 4 show 'Crip on a Trip' (2006), a title picked by Dom himself. The show went onto win RTS Awards for Best Educational Programme (14-19yrs) as well as Best Documentary for the SW region.
At present, Dom is in his final year at University playing Percussion for the University of Warwick Big Band as well as doing live Percussion for club nights and festivals across the UK.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Anon
