Zane Lowe has promised "compelling" interviews with artists on his upcoming MTV series Soundchain.
Ed Sheeran, Nas and Biffy Clyro are among the musicians who will feature on Lowe's new show, which sees him speak to a different act each week about their career and background.
"We keep it really simple, and try not to reinvent anything," he said at a Q&A in London today (June 25). "If you get the right subject matter then it can be a compelling watch. It's about concentrating on their journey."
The BBC Radio 1 DJ said that the show is unique as it provides a historical document about different artists in 2014.
He explained: "What's really cool is that all these artists, a lot of them are really new. It's quite rare to speak to someone like Ed Sheeran and go, 'Let's go back', because he's too busy looking forward.
