Yu-Hsiu Camille Chen’s Little Sparrows will have a limited cinema release in Western Australia through Luna Palace Cinemas.
“We are delighted that we have been given the opportunity to show Perth audiences Camille’s very touching and moving drama. We encourage everyone to come along to see it and help support one of Perth’s very talented filmmakers, as well as the many truly gifted actors that help make this film special,” said Luna Palace’s managing director Van Den Berghe.
The film tells the story of three sisters. Nina is widowed with two young children. Anna is an aspiring actress unhappily married to a filmmaker. Christine is a med student who is yet to fully come to terms with her sexuality. Yu-Hsiu Camille Chen’s Little Sparrows has signed a distribution deal for the Us and Canada with Film Movement.
“It was an extraordinary premiere and the response from both audiences and international media has been overwhelming at say the least. To receive confirmation from Umedia this morning that the Us deal had been finalised is very affirming,” said Chen.
The deal was negotiated by sales agent Umedia.
Little Sparrows recently screened at the International Rome Film Festival.

Yu-Hsiu Camille Chen's Australian film "Little Sparrows," which recently premiered at the Rome Film Festival, has been acquired for U.S. distribution by Film Movement. No release date has been set of yet. "Little Sparrows" takes place over one hot Christmas in Australia, and chronicles a family bracing together after the mother is diagnosed with breast cancer. The deal was negotiated today with international sales company, UMedia.

Little Sparrows, The Fall Guys, Roadman and I Wish I Were Stephanie V are the finalists for this year’s DigiSPAA digital film competition.
These films will be screened at next week’s Spaa Fringe (October 22-23), where a panel will select two grand finalists. The winner will then be announced at the Spaa Conference on November 17.
