Morton is an 8-year-old boy who believes he will die young. If not, he knows he will grow up to become a mortician and is more than happy with both those ideas. In the delightfully morbid short film Dead Hearts, Morton has a life-changing experience, a brush with true love that is absolutely sweet. In the words of the official description: "A young mortician learns that not even death can stand in the way of true love. A whimsical, gothic bedtime story filled with love, loss, taxidermy, Kung Fu, and biker werewolves." Written and directed by Stephen W. Martin (no relation to yours truly), Dead Hearts has played at more than 150 film festivals and won 45 awards so far. it's easy to see why;...

"Dead Hearts" is a great short film that follows the story a young mortician who learns that “not even death can stand in the way of true love.” It’s described as a “whimsical, gothic bedtime story filled with love, loss, taxidermy, Kung Fu, and biker werewolves.” Because every film needs biker werewolves!
Sound like something you’d be interested in? Then you should probably watch it because it is incredibly entertaining! Who would have thought that death could be so much fun!? I saw "Dead Hearts" for the first time at the FilmQuest film festival last year, and I’ve eagerly been waiting for it to be released online. The short was directed by Stephen Martin, and now you get a chance to see it for yourself! Enjoy!

Today we came across this adorable (if one can put such epithet together in the same sentence as ‘a zombie film’) zombie horror short, called Dead Friends, and directed by Stephen W. Martin. You might say it’s a holiday short, because the main character carries an Easter Bunny stuffed animal around with her. Here, have a look: The story follows a bullied little girl who brings a little boy back from the dead. At the nine minute mark, you’ll see one of the best kid psycho faces ever! Synopsis: Nine year old Lola Turtle’s only companion is her treasured and tattered stuffed bunny, Mister Wimperbottom…...

Check out this adorably twisted zombie horror short called Dead Friends directed by Stephen W. Martin. I guess you can consider this a holiday short as well because the main character carries an Easter Bunny stuffed animal around with her. The story follows a bullied little girl who brings a little boy back from the dead. The film ended up being pretty solid; I liked the outcome. At the nine minute mark, you'll see one of the best kid psycho faces ever!
Nine year old Lola Turtle's only companion is her treasured and tattered stuffed bunny, Mister Wimperbottom... until she finds a way to grow her very own 'Dead' best friend.
The director says that the short was shot in two days and completed in eight days from beginning to end for the Crazy 8's film festival in Vancouver. Check it out and let us know what you think of it!

The TromaDance film festival makes it into puberty with their 13th annual edition and you won’t want to miss where they’ve grown some hair on May 4-5 at Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park, New Jersey. It’s two days of hormone-fueled short films, voice-changing features and a star-studded panel discussion.
Two features will be screening at the fest: Steven Kostanski‘s VHS throwback action sci-fi horror flick Manborg and the Trost brothers’ dance-fight video game frenzy The Fp.
The rest of TromaDance is stuffed to the gills with disturbing, grotesque and just downright freaky short films, including Greg Hanson‘s garbage disposal love story Sinkhole and Aaron Zegher‘s ghostly I See a Light. Short film blocks are broken down by theme, such as “Monsters,” “Zombies,” “Madness” and an absolutely not-for-kids “Saturday Morning Cartoons” collection.
Plus, on Saturday evening, there will be a panel discussion on the marketing...
