Jeremy Robert Plante
- Producer
Jeremy Robert Plante was born in Brooks, Alberta Canada in 1977,
weighing in at 7 pounds and 7 ounces. At 8 months of age, he was
diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (A genetic survival motor
neuron disorder) and his parents were informed he would spend the
remainder of his life in a wheelchair. Social stigmas and
misinformation about his disability made attending public school a
challenge for him. By Grade 1 teachers questioned whether or not a
disabled student could be integrated into a "normal" classroom. After
proving himself repeatedly through IQ tests which recorded him in the
mid 140's and meetings with several therapists and school
administrators, he was granted inclusion into the public school system
of British Columbia in 1982.
Jeremy went on and eventually attended the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. Majoring in English, Sociology, and Theology; completing his MA in English Literature in 2002. He has worked in retail sales, telemarketing, as an English and ESL tutor, and eventually entered the world of publishing as an editor in 2003.
As an editor for infamous website www.consumptionjunction.com and a regular contributor to several horror movie sites, Jeremy became increasingly involved in the film industry and helps produce several independent horror filmmakers, while remaining an active member of the Online horror community and full-time editor for a mid-sized Canadian publishing house. He also writes and publishes under pen names to keep his home and work life separate.
