Nathan A. Jacobs, Ph.D. is an artist turned scholar turned writer/director/producer. Jacobs began his career as a fine artist and trained at the Maryland Institute College of Art, one of the top art schools in the US. Driven by an insatiable interest in big questions, he accumulated degrees in Art, Philosophy, Church History, and Theology. During his studies, he paid the bills as a concept artist, creating character designs, storyboards, and cut scenes for the video game industry. After years as a professor of philosophy and religion, publishing award-winning and field-changing books and articles, Jacobs' experience in the video game industry and his love for art and ideas converged in film making. Jacobs' first feature film was the college comedy Killing Poe (2016), quickly followed by the feature documentary, Becoming Truly Human (2017). As he started development on his third feature, They Dwell Among Us, his work caught the attention of studios and industry insiders, which led to a first-look deal as a writer/director/producer with Kingdom Story Company, in partnership with Lionsgate, and eventually The Wonder Project, in partnership with Amazon Studios. Jacobs is currently a Writer and Co-Executive Producer on House of David, the flagship show for The Wonder Project, signed for two seasons with Amazon Studios.
