Brandon “Frenchie” French‘s epic fall from power ended with his eviction on Thursday’s live episode of “Big Brother.” The 34-year old farmer from Tennessee was sent packing by an 11-to-1 vote over his Joker teammate Britini D’Angelo. After orchestrating one of the wildest Head of Household reigns in “Bb” history, Frenchie immediately paid for it when the current Hoh, Kyland Young, took the opportunity to send him out for air hugs with host Julie Chen Moonves.
“I came in strong but I came in with a purpose,” Frenchie asserted during his face-to-face chat with Julie. “My wife told me that if you want to make a change in the game you need to get off the couch and get in the house and go do it. I saw the type of people, like the old guy, always getting evicted first and I wanted to change that. I made...

Heading into Thursday’s live eviction episode of “Big Brother,” Britini D’Angelo and Brandon “Frenchie” French had both been nominated for eviction by Head of Household Kyland Young. They had a chance to save themselves in the Power of Veto competition, but Derek Xiao claimed victory instead (his second consecutive Veto of the summer) and opted not to use it. That meant either Britini or Frenchie were about to be eliminated, so the Jokers would soon be losing a team member. How did the live eviction play out, and which houseguest ended the night with a one-on-one conversation with Julie Chen Moonves?

Two Jokers, Brandon “Frenchie” French and Britini D’Angelo, found themselves nominated for eviction during week two of “Big Brother,” but this was no laughing matter. Frenchie felt he was betrayed by Slaughterhouse alliance member Kyland Young (even though Frenchie nominated him last week) after Kyland won Head of Household. Meanwhile, Britini was placed on the block because she was a “loyal” player who’d no doubt save Frenchie with the Veto if given the opportunity. Speaking of the Veto, who won this all-important power and what did they decide to do with it? Let’s go!

And then there were 15. The first live eviction episode of “Big Brother” Season 23 resulted in the elimination of Travis Long, aka the “white guy with abs.” Only two people (Derek Frazier and Tiffany Mitchell) voted to keep him safe, compared to 11 who voted to keep his block-mate Alyssa Lopez in the house. Following Travis’ Q&a with Julie Chen Moonves, the eligible players then competed in a live Head of Household competition, with Kyland Young proving victorious. So who did Kyland nominate for eviction? And who won the second wildcard comp of the summer?

The chaotic reign of Brandon “Frenchie” French as Head of Household concluded on Thursday’s live eviction episode of “Big Brother” with Travis Long becoming the first Season 23 houseguest sent packing. The 22-year old technology sales consultant from Hawaii came up short when the house voted 11-2 to keep Alyssa Lopez over the “meathead.”

Heading into Thursday’s first live eviction episode of “Big Brother” Season 23, Alyssa Lopez of the Kings and Travis Long of the Queens had been nominated for eviction by Head of Household Brandon “Frenchie” French. Frenchie’s original plan was to oust Christian Birkenberger, but that “meathead” saved himself in the wildcard competition. Frenchie then set his sights on Derek Xiao, but he won the Power of Veto. Despite all that, Frenchie still called his Hoh reign a “total, total success” … um, okay. So how did the house vote, and which player ended the night having a meet-and-greet with Julie Chen Moonves?

All week long at Gold Derby, “BB23” fans have been making their predictions for which houseguest will be evicted during the July 15 episode. Well, the results are in, and it’s bad news for Travis Long. This 22-year-old surfer dude from Hawaii has leading 7/5 odds to be the first person eliminated from Season 23, according to our “Big Brother” eviction predictions. His block buddy Alyssa Lopez comes in with a less stressful 17/2 odds. Do you agree or disagree with our readers’ predictions? There’s still time to have your say before the live episode airs Thursday night on CBS.
The road to getting Travis nominated was a long and arduous one for Head of Household Brandon “Frenchie” French. His original goal was to oust a “meathead” — i.e. a muscled guy with little brains — and he set his sights on Christian Birkenberger. However, Christian foiled that plan when he won safety in the wildcard competition.

Hmm, is Brandon “Frenchie” French really having the messiest opening Head of Household reign in “Big Brother” history? The Tennessee farmer started the week by promising to nominate Christian Birkenberger … but then the “meathead” won the wildcard competition. Frenchie also told all of the girls they’d be safe this week … but then he put Christian’s number-two, Alyssa Lopez, on the eviction block. His second nominee was Kyland Young … but Frenchie hinted during the nominations ceremony that he was actually just a pawn. The only way Frenchie’s week could get any worse was if the Veto saved Kyland or Alyssa from the block. So how did everything play out on Wednesday night?

The first two nominations for elimination have been made on Season 23 of “Big Brother” and unfortunately follow a familiar trend — despite a promise that they wouldn’t.
During the premiere of “Big Brother,” Frenchie became the first Head of Household, after winning two competitions. After securing the HoH spot, Frenchie made a promise that no women or person of color would be on the chopping block in the first week, in an effort to break the show’s — particularly Season 21 — history of doing so.
He was lauded for the statement, both by the other players in the house and by fans. But on Sunday night, when it came time for Frenchie to choose his two nominations he pulled a 180, nominating Alyssa Lopez and Kyland Young — a woman and a man of color. His decision had many fans fuming.

Four of them won their initial plexiglass challenges and became team leaders: Brandon “Frenchie” French for the Jokers, Whitney Williams for the Aces, Christian Birkenberger for the Kings and Claire Rehfuss for the Queens. The Jokers later won the “House of Cards” inspired Head of Household competition, which meant Frenchie automatically became the season’s first Hoh. Ever since “Big Brother” first debuted in the summer of 2000, the grand prize for the ultimate winner has been a cool half-mil. That’s why it was so shocking when host Julie Chen Moonves announced during the 90-minute Season 23 premiere that the prize money for “BB23” would jump from $500,000 to $750,000.
“We are adding a quarter of a million dollars to the grand prize,” Julie told the 16 all-new houseguests in the backyard on opening night. “That’s right — the winner of ‘Big Brother’ will receive $750,000. Soak it in.”
