Indian media and entertainment company Shemaroo Entertainment is collaborating with Indian Media Entertainment Network (Imen) to reimagine 1990 Bollywood hit “Jamai Raja,” that starred Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit and Hema Malini.
The news was revealed on Oct. 19, the 32nd anniversary of the film’s theatrical release.
The film, which revolves around a mother-in-law and son-in-law conflict, was originally made in the Telugu language in 1989 by writer-director A. Kodandarami Reddy as “Attaku Yamudu Ammayiki Mogudu,” starring Chiranjeevi and Vijayshanti. It was remade in Tamil the same year as “Mappillai,” starring Rajinikanth, and another Tamil-language remake of the same name, starring Dhanush, released in 2011. Reddy also directed “Jamai Raja.” A Bengali-language remake “Sasurbari Zindabad,” starring Prosenjit Chatterjee, released in 2000.

Indian Media Entertainment Network (Imen) has revealed a robust film and series slate that will keep it busy through 2023.
First up is action film, Nilesh Sahay’s “Squad,” introducing Rinzing Denzongpa, which was shot extensively in Belarus. When the six-year-old granddaughter of India’s leading scientist is kidnapped, India sends a crack team led by a man (Denzongpa) who must battle Ptsd and his own demons to save her.
Imen had entered into a first look deal with the Zee group in 2018 and “Squad” will bow on the global ZEE5 streaming platform in October during the Diwali holiday frame. Imen has devised a two-month long marketing plan along with a trailer launch that is designed as a post-pandemic mega event with the who’s who of the Indian film industry attending.
“Mad Max: Fury Road” stunt co-ordinator Keir Beck will turn director with Indo-Australian co-production “Riley,” set in the mines of Western Australia.

India’s Zee Cinema has signed a first look deal with Indian Media Entertainment Network (Imen) to co-produce action hybrid films and also acquire international action films for Zee’s numerous platforms. No titles have been announced yet.
The move is part of the Zee group’s expanded international push. The company recently revealed plans of producing low-budget, English-language films. Initial titles include “Open 24 Hours,” “Daddy’s Girl,” and “Dark Light.”
Zee is also expanding the reach of its VoD platform Zee5. On Wednesday, Zee5 became available across Asia Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East, with Europe, Canada and the Caribbean next on the list. Zee operates 66 linear television channels across 171 countries.
The Essel Group, which owns a 42% stake in Zee, is currently conducting a strategic review of its holding in the company and is likely to sell half its stake to a market leader in the global media and entertainment space,...

Deepika's cobra tattoo with 'Dum Maaro Dum' written in Hindi on the very sexy Dum Maaro Dum posters has already become very popular. Keeping in mind the interest this tattoo has generated, the Dum Maaro Dum(Dmd) team found a unique way to promote their movie which will be releasing on 22nd April.
Indian Ink held the 1st Tattoo Convention at World Trade Center, Mumbai and Dmd was a part of the event on the 10th of April. Stars of the film Abhishek Bachchan and the yummy looking Prateik Babbar were there at the exhibition along with director Rohan Sippy. Also present were actress Nargis and Nilesh Sahay, nephew of Sanjay Dutt who debuted in Angel.
The Dmd trio took a look at the stalls, while some attended the b-boy dance performance and other others got themselves tattooed (spotted were Nilesh whose girlfriend got two temporary tattoos done!
