Donald Trump was in Delaware, Ohio, late last month for a rally to promote his preferred candidates in the Buckeye State — most notably J.D. Vance, who on Tuesday night won the Republican Party’s nomination for U.S. Senate. Trump strayed from his prepared remarks at several points during his speech, including as gave an enthusiastic shout out to J.R. Majewski, a local man who has garnered right-wing praise for painting Trump murals on his lawn. “He’s been out there and he’s been farming and he’s been...

After a leaked draft opinion all but confirmed that the U.S. Supreme Court is working toward abolishing the right to an abortion, CNN decided for some reason to bring Jeffrey Toobin on the air to talk about it.
And a big topic at hand: Whether or not the leak itself, rather than the decision, is bad for the Supreme Court.
Of course, the cable network was thoroughly mocked by frustrated supporters of Roe v Wade who saw both the decision to have Toobin on, and what the discussion focused on, as a sad failure on CNN’s part.
Toobin appeared on “Anderson Cooper 360” in a segment excerpted and shared by CNN media reporter Brian Stelter. The excerpt shared by Stelter focused on a peculiar element of the matter: The leak itself.
"There has never been a leak of a vote, much less an actual opinion, much less in a case of this significance,...

We’ll take “Scandals That Could’ve Been Avoided” for $1200. Mike Richards is already out as the new host of “Jeopardy!” amid backlash over his past offensive remarks and everybody’s got jokes — and, of course, more suggestions for his replacement.
Richards informed the show’s staff that he was stepping down in an email Friday, writing that, “It has become clear that moving forward as host would be too much of a distraction for our fans and not the right move for the show.”
The behind-the-scenes saga has already distracted fans, though, with one Twitter user wondering how “Jeopardy!” of all shows came to fill the drama void left by “Game of Thrones.”
Richards will remain as executive producer and the show will return to its short-term guest hosts until a permanent one is chosen.
Production on the new season of the quiz show, which just began Thursday with Richards as host,...

Fox News announced its plans to launch Fox Weather, a 24-hour streaming channel, last year and on Tuesday, the New York Times went deep on the weather TV business, which was the first time a lot of people had heard of the upcoming channel.
Unfortunately, online commentators seems to think any weather reports from Fox will be credible, or even objective. Many are joking the network will use the forecasts as a way to launch into other talking points, conspiracy theories, attacks on Democrats — or all three.
Author Chuck Wendig imagined how the broadcasts might go: “Next up, on Fox Weather: why are hurricanes teaching kids about Critical Race Theory? Then: climate change is just another example of cancel culture gone woke! Finally, a new report: The Storm Is Coming. I’m Ben Carson with the Weather.”
A rep for Fox News had no comment.
Why is fox launching a weather channel?...

In an eight-page letter sent to congressional leaders, the White House made clear Tuesday night that it has no plans to cooperate with the impeachment inquiry House Democrats launched last month.
The letter is one of the most inaccurate, unhinged pieces of correspondence ever to bear the White House letterhead, and represents the latest nadir of the Trump administration’s campaign to spread disinformation about the president’s actions and the nature of the impeachment inquiry. Georgetown law professor Heidi Li Feldman described its contents on Twitter as a set...

President Donald Trump has repeatedly given not-so-flattering monikers to his political enemies. Hillary Clinton was dubbed “Crooked Hillary,” Ted Cruz was nicknamed “Lyin’ Ted” and Bernie Sanders was labeled “Crazy Bernie.”
And now, the time has come for someone who, up until a few months ago, was one of Trump’s top advisers and closest allies: Steve Bannon.
The new name came, like the bulk of Trump’s most talked-about moments, on Twitter.
Trump insisted that he did not allow Michael Wolff, who wrote the explosive new book Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, access to the White House.
