Mark Shell
- Producer
- Actor
- Writer
A multi-talented filmmaker who has been involved with every aspect of filmmaking, from script writing, to directing, editing, camera, acting, special effects, foley, and music composition.
A filmmaker from Moosejaw Canada, born in 1984 in the frozen tundra of Canada he was fascinated by Bigfoot and other legends of the woods.
In 2008, inspired by his friend Michelle, who had a background in theater and film, he went on to write and create a movie with her help. She was his inspiration for getting into the film world. Michelle was an incredibly talented and inspirational manager with a passion for the arts. It's through Michelle that he was introduced to the Creative Alliance and how he met other creative directors, learned the craft of movie making and even learned how to paint thanks to Michelle, Jason, Mytem, Gary, Karen and a few other super cool people. He was also introduced to a budding filmmaker, Erik, who would go on to produce multiple films himself. He never expected to get into the movie industry or create artwork, but he discovered a whole new world when meeting so many talented artists at work and on the commuter train - and it was really the time on the commuter train that changed things as he was looking for something to do while on the train and that's why his co-workers introduced him to the arts. He went on to write several short books and several movie scripts while riding the train, making use of the hours of commute time. With the help of his co-workers he was able to complete several short films which were entered into local film festivals.
Sometimes all it takes is for that one inspiring person to encourage you to try something different. Who would have thought that a casual conversation at work over a cup of coffee would lead to the creation of multiple movies.
"I knew I had to make a movie when everyone in the office dressed up for Halloween; it was so much fun with all the vampires, zombies, scarecrows, and other weird characters; that's when I finally agreed to make a movie with the help of my crazy teammates...and some friends from the train."
To those who inspire, we thank you and appreciate you.
To those who have passed (Michelle, Erik, Karen) may you forever be remembered in the film community.
Due to the unexpected passing of Erik in 2021 all future movie projects have been cancelled.
from Mr. Shell: For anyone who seen a previous biography, please understand that it was not correct and it contained insulting language towards a dear friend who helped me get into the film industry. She was an inspiration to many and was always there to help. I sincerely apologize to anyone who may have seen that biography as I am still stunned by what ended up being posted. I hope this biography remains in tact for years. Thanks.
