Legendary Pictures tweeted out the first couple of pages from the Pacific Rim prequel comic book Pacific Rim: Tales From Year Zero. I've also included a couple of new photos, which feature new Jaegers that I haven't seen before called Horizon Brave and Romeo Blu!
The story for the comic chronicles "the very first time Earth is menaced by incredible monsters known as Kaiju, these inhuman beasts rise from the ocean depths and threaten to extinguish all mankind! Witness the race to develop massive robot fighting machines called Jaegers, each one controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. This action-packed book features many of the key characters from the film as we follow them in their early careers."
The comic was written by Pacific Rim screenwriter Travis Beacham, along with Guillermo del Toro's hands-on supervision. It was illustrated by Sean Chen, Yvel Guichet,...

I recently got to see “The Birds” on the big screen at the Alex Theater in Glendale. It’s not really as big a screen as the Don Drive-In, which is where I first saw the film when I was just a kid. The lack of mosquitos at the Alex beats any issue of screen size, however. And I never did like the citronella coils we had to set on fire on our dashboard to try and keep the mosquitos away.
