Batman and Robin star George Clooney made a brief appearance as his take on Bruce Wayne in The Flash, but the actor has made it clear that this was a "one and done," and he has no interest in reprising the role again.
Though some fans were happy to see Clooney back as the iconic DC Comics hero, the scene - like the movie itself - proved to be highly divisive, and it was generally felt that the actor was brought back for little more than a quick visual gag.
This cameo aside, the Academy Award-nominated actor has avoided superhero fare since Joel Schumacher's much-maligned Batman movie, but has previously said that he wouldn't necessarily rule out playing a different comic book character if the script was of a high quality.
Now, scooper Mttsh is claiming that Clooney is in talks with Marvel Studios for an undisclosed role.

Welp. One point goes to Sentry while the other goes to The Void (will talk about it later). Meanwhile, rumors have begun to circulate that The Sentry will allegedly be nerfed in the upcoming MCU film Thunderbolts*!
The Sentry | Marvel Comics
Hundreds of comic book characters follow the “no-kill rule”. It’s a convoluted concept that is quite difficult to understand but roughly translates to “Don’t kill anyone”. Well, rumors state that The Sentry will follow the no-kill rule in Thunderbolts*, and fans are confused.

There’s a certain happiness found when merging and comparing Marvel and the Dceu/Dcu. In the DC Comics, Batman and Superman have a no-kill rule that they follow with their whole heart.

While the comic book universe at DC Studios has been making great progress under the watchful eye of James Gunn, the same cannot be said for the former inhabitants of the Dceu branch that operated under Zack Snyder. Besides bearing the honorary title of being one of the most debated and controversial trilogies to date, the franchise’s actors too have taken a liking to being subjected to media mockery recently.

After helming comic book adaptations like 300 and Watchmen (both of which had previously been described as "impossible" to put on screen), Zack Snyder seemed a perfect fit to helm 2013's Superman reboot, Man of Steel.
The DC movie has a lot of fans, but also some highly divisive elements. The destruction of Metropolis, Superman's inability to save innocents, and the hero's decision to kill General Zod are chief among them. However, the death of Jonathan Kent is also a major sticking point.
In the movie, Clark Kent allows his adoptive father to die - at his behest - to stop the world from finding out he's Superman. The scene didn't have the impact Snyder expected, with many arguing that the Kryptonian could have quite easily rescued Jonathan.

Snyder’s Dceu was highly controversial, primarily due to his tendency to alter essential character traits. His dark and twisted interpretation of iconic characters elicited polarized reactions, ranging from praise to intense criticism.
Fans either adored or despised the Dceu, and when the SnyderVerse concluded, many felt a collective sense of relief in the world of adaptations.
One of the most criticized aspects of the Dceu was the excessive violence of both Batman and Superman. Snyder defended this by arguing that Batman is boring if he can’t kill and that Superman is unrealistic if he doesn’t kill Zod.
Fans viewed this as sacrilege, believing Snyder completely misunderstood the core characteristics of Batman and Superman.
Additionally, we recently learned about a scrapped Wonder Woman movie. Snyder envisioned Diana traveling the world beyond Themyscira in search of Ares, engaging in conflicts, and forming relationships with mortal lovers who eventually aged or died in battle.

We know that Snyder’s Dceu was highly controversial due to his tendency to change some vital characteristics of the characters, among other things. Snyder had a dark and twisted approach to some of the most iconic characters, so it’s no wonder that the response to his ideas was either “praise” or utmost hate.
Fans either loved Dceu or loathed it, so when SnyderVerse was finally over, the world of adaptations breathed a collective sigh of relief.
One of the most criticized aspects of Dceu was definitely the fact that both Batman and Superman were overly violent. Snyder recently explained it by claiming that Batman is boring if he can’t kill and that Superman is fake if he can’t kill Zod.
This sounded like sacrilege to fans, with many claiming that the director is missing the point of Batman’s and Superman’s notable characteristics completely.

Before James Gunn brings a unified, streamlined vision of the DC Universe to life (taking some of the uniqueness and variety out of DC's titles with it), "My Adventures With Superman" season 2 is here to remind us that there is still a lot of life left in these characters if artists are allowed to experiment and bring their own fresh perspectives to the table. "My Adventures With Superman" brings a clear anime influence to the eponymous character and his world, with direct nods to everything from "Neon Genesis Evangelion" to "Dragon Ball."
Indeed, this is an utterly delightful show -- one that makes Clark Kent a charming, bumbling dork with a huge heart and relentless optimism, and tells a story that cares just as much about the people that make Clark human as it does about the adventures that make Superman super. Bruce Timm, easily the most prominent architect of the DC Comics animated franchise over the last two decades, has worked on a wide variety of narrations during his time. Having worked on prominent characters via groundbreaking series such as Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, and Justice League Doom, Timm has been given plenty of opportunities to play around with major DC properties.

Justice League: Gods and Monsters had a very original take on DC’s iconic Trinity: Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. These characters were viewed in a very different light in the Dcamu’s 24th feature film, where Superman was the son of General Zod, Wonder Woman was a New God and Batman was a literal Vampire.

Superman's latest animated TV show, My Adventures With Superman, could not use one of the Kryptonian's most iconic villains.
Complete with a few big changes to Clark Kent, My Adventures With Superman is pushing forward into Season 2 with a new set of challenges for the Man of Steel and company.
Season 1 set up teases for big bads such as Brainiac and General Zod, although the series avoided arguably the character's most notable antagonist.

5 Reasons Why Superman Would Beat Homelander - Main Image
If the Man of Steel were up against The Boys' most notorious antagonist, the world would be in chaos. The question is, who would win?
In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Antony Starr gave plenty of reasons why Homelander would beat Superman in a 1v1. But we beg to differ. While Homelander is a killing machine, we doubt he would stand a chance against the mighty Superman.
This article explains why the DC superhero would obliterate Dynamite Entertainment’s beloved villain.
Superior Powers and Abilities
While Homelander is insanely powerful and possesses many abilities, he’s below Superman in terms of potential. Superman is faster, stronger, and more resilient.
The character of Homelander was inspired by Superman, which is why you can draw parallels between them. However, Homelander is still much weaker than Superman in terms of sheer strength and abilities.

Henry Cavill’s Superman might have had a very short tenure, and with the Dceu closing out, it seems highly unlikely that we will see the character again. However, audiences, creators, and some critics alike enjoyed the fresh, more personal take that Zack Snyder had when it came to Superman, as opposed to the Big Blue Boy Scout image the character had boasted.

Despite being fired as X-Men '97 showrunner (the details are still sketchy) shortly before the series premiered on Disney+, Beau DeMayo has remained active on social media, sharing intriguing insights into the development of the animated revival show and revealing some of his key influences.
DeMayo has previously explained how the iconic "Superman takes flight" sequence from Zack Snyder's Man of Steel inspired a similar moment from episode 6 featuring Storm regaining her powers, and has now revealed that a different scene may have "subconsciously influenced" Rogue attacking the villainous Bastion in the recent season finale.
This was yet another standout moment for Rogue, who unleashed the full extent of her power while channelling the pain and rage she felt after losing Gambit in the Genosha massacre
I was likely subconsciously influenced by this when writing the #xmen97 finale beat of Rogue punching Bastion. That’s not Superman hammering Zod.

The storytelling process often blurs lines, enabling creators to weave their magic subconsciously, and this holds true for one brutal Henry Cavill scene from Man of Steel. Indeed, the film has intriguingly likely influenced an iconic X-Men ‘97 finale moment involving Rogue, as revealed by Beau DeMayo. In the vast realm of comic book history, there have been several powerful and iconic superheroes, and DC’s Superman certainly occupies a high rank among them. One of the greatest characters of all time, fans of the Kryptonian hero have often stated that he can champion and defeat even the evilest of evil characters.

Since its inception in 1977 by creator George Lucas, the Star Wars universe has invited some of Hollywood’s biggest names to participate in telling stories from a galaxy far, far away. On that note, imagine having the chance to star in one of the most iconic film sagas of all time, only to walk away with an unpleasant memory that seemed like it’d never fade.
Can an experience alongside a cinematic legend like Lucas ever be, dare we say, “boring”? Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel starring Henry Cavill as Superman gave insight into the origin story of the titular DC hero. Despite the Kryptonian villain General Zod and the gravity of the narrative, the movie failed to have an astonishing mark among critics as the ambitious Snyderverse movie was able to claim only a 56% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Zack Snyder launched the Dceu back in 2013 with the Henry Cavill starrer Man of Steel. While the film was a reboot of the Superman franchise, it also acted as the first film in a planned shared universe which would ultimately lead to the Justice League, much like DC’s competitors Marvel. Snyder even had a planned five-part story for the film franchise.
However, Snyder got to truly realize his vision due to the studio’s mismanagement issues and his own personal problems. The filmmaker was reportedly also planning a Man of Steel 2, which would have seen Superman fight Brainiac. While the film never materialized, the first image from James Gunn’s Superman might indicate the presence of the popular villain.

The planned ‘Superman’ trilogy in the Dceu got canceled after ‘Black Adam’ came out. In a post-credit scene, they teased what would happen next for Superman, but then they said they were rebooting the whole cinematic universe and getting a new actor for Superman, which cut Cavill’s story short.
Then James Gunn started his own universe called Dcu, and David Corenswet was cast as a younger Superman, who’s got his own story going on.
Fans were understandably upset, especially because many of them liked Cavill’s darker and brooding Superman, even though his performance in ‘Man of Steel’ got mixed reviews at best. Now, in a recent interview with GQ, Zack Snyder has finally disclosed how Superman’s story would’ve wrapped up in his Dceu.
He was going to have to succumb to the Anti-life, be destroyed, turn the clock back, and then get his chance for this battle against Darkseid.

Snyder’s DC tenure ended after James Gunn and Peter Safran took over the studio. Still, the director has been very protective of his philosophy— often casting the inherent darkness on the characters. Particularly, putting them into a pit of moral dilemma.

Zack Snyder has been a hot and cold figure in the DC fandom. Even though he has been regarded as one of the most talented filmmakers to have even been part of the franchise, his approach towards certain characters raised several eyebrows during his time working in the universe. He made several fundamental changes to certain characters that completely went against their moral code.
Superman in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel
The best example would be the fact that Ben Affleck’s Batman killed 30 people in the SnyderVerse. In almost every version of the character, the no-killing rule has been the only separation between the Caped Crusader and the villains he fights. Another perfect example would be that of Superman.

Zack Snyder is now promoting his newest film, ‘Rebel Moon – Part 2: The Scargiver,’ and unfortunately, it’s one of his lowest-rated movies yet. However, this situation has given us a chance to hear Snyder’s thoughts on his past work, particularly the Dceu, which was recently rebooted by Gunn and Safran, with many projects in the pipeline.
Snyder has shared some thoughts on the memorable Superman vs. Zod fight scene. He acknowledged that if Superman doesn’t face the choice to kill, it wouldn’t feel authentic. He also expressed surprise at fans mocking the “Martha” scene, as it was meant to be a significant moment where both men understand they’re not enemies.
In a recent interview with Cbr, Snyder addressed what many were curious about – his thoughts and expectations for the upcoming Gunn’s Dcu.

Zack Snyder is currently promoting his latest movie, ‘Rebel Moon- Part 2: The Scargiver,’ and we’re sad to report that it’s one of the lowest-rated movies of his career.
Fortunately, this whole affair provided us with the unique opportunity to pick Snyder’s brain when it comes to his former projects, notably, Dceu which ended up being rebooted by Gunn and Safran last year, with plenty of projects on the way.
Snyder has already given us some insight when it comes to the notable Superman vs. Zod fight scene, he admitted that if Superman is not put in the position to kill he is fake. He also admitted that he was surprised to see fans mocking the “Martha” scene since it was supposed to be a really profound moment in the movie during which the two men realize they aren’t actually on opposing sides.

Zack Snyder is currently promoting his latest movie, ‘The Rebel Moon – Part 2: The Scargiver,’ but he’s also talking about his former movies, especially those that were part of the ill-fated Dceu.
Snyder commented a while back that Batman is boring if he is not put in a situation where he has to kill people. More recently, he also commented on Zod’s and Superman’s fight in ‘Man of Steel,’ saying that Superman is also fake if he is not able to kill Zod, as the character has to be put in a situation to kill villains to further cement his humanity.
Now one of the most notable scenes and plot twists in Snyderverse actually came from ‘Batman v Superman.’ Batman and Superman are fighting when they realize their mothers have the same name. In this moment, Batman realizes that Superman is more human than he thought. Fans were shocked by this,...

Zack Snyder is traveling around to talk about his new movie, ‘Rebel Moon – Part 2: The Scargiver’, and he’s been discussing his old movies along the way, both the good and the bad.
Recently, Snyder surprised fans when he said that Batman is dull if he doesn’t kill. However, many disagree because Batman’s character isn’t about killing, and that’s a widely accepted fact.
Snyder recently talked with GQ about his top movies, including ‘Man of Steel,’ which had a mixed reception, with some critics finding it “exceptionally unpleasant.” One major criticism was the fight scene between Zod and Superman, which some fans felt was out of character. Snyder even stated that if Superman couldn’t kill Zod, he would be fake. Yes, he actually said that.

Zack Snyder is currently on a tour promoting his latest movie, ‘Rebel Moon – Part 2: The Scargiver’ and he often takes a moment to address his former iconic movies – for better or worse.
Recently, Snyder shocked fans by telling the world that Batman is boring if he can’t kill, and no matter whether you agree with him or not, killing is not the point of Batman’s character and that’s a fact.
Snyder recently sat down with GQ and reflected on his most iconic movies, on the list was ‘Man of Steel,’ a movie that had mixed reactions at best, some critics calling it an “exceptionally unpleasant experience.” One of the most criticized points of the movie is the fight scene between Zod and Superman, with fans pointing out that the fight was completely out of Superman’s character, well according to Snyder if Superman can’t kill Zod he is fake.

Michael Shannon has done his fair share of high-budget films, like Man of Steel, but the actor has not shied away from doing smaller projects either. However, working on a particular project allowed the actor to meet one of the industry greats, something he likened to being a ‘dream’.
Michael Shannon as General Zod in Man of Steel
A Little White Lie is a cerebral literary thriller film, revolving around Shannon’s character, who is a down-on-his-luck handyman who gets mistaken for a celebrity writer. The film had a box office run of only $22,482 (via Box Office Mojo), but that does not mean the cast was not stuffed with talented artists of the industry, one that Shannon couldn’t believe he was working with: M. Emmet Walsh.

Headed by seasoned filmmaker James Gunn. DC Studios is finally finding its footing back. Gunn’s era at DC is set to start with a reboot of the Superman film series. The filming of what will be the first DC film under Gunn’s supervision Superman, previously titled Superman: Legacy has commenced in Svalbard, Norway.

Filming in the Arctic means that viewers will see Clark Kent in his Fortress of Solitude. All to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his adoptive human family; as the premise suggests. However, the film might share a similarity with Christopher Reeve’s Superman II, from the 80’s. And it might have something to do with the Fortress of Solitude.

Monsterverse vs Dceu
Since debuting in 2013, the DC Extended Universe has been one disaster after another for Warner Brothers. Massive critical and fan backlash, constant shake-ups in creative direction, and increasingly dwindling box office plagued the once promising franchise before it was finally put out of its misery by The Flash; though Blue Beetle and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom might still be canon depending on who you ask.
Yet at the same time, WB has helped spearhead another cinematic universe that might be the only one besides Marvel to work out in the long run. The Monsterverse: a series of films and TV shows adapting beloved Japanese kaiju such as Godzilla, alongside original monsters and American icon King Kong for good measure.

Renowned for his versatility and dedication to his craft, Russell Crowe is no stranger to transforming himself for the roles he undertakes, and it was not any different for the 2013 film Man of Steel. Directed by Zack Snyder, the movie featured him as Jor-El, Superman/Kal-El’s father, who sends his son to Earth before meeting his demise at the hands of General Zod during a coup.

Despite having a relatively brief role in the movie, Crowe still had to follow a rigorous six-month workout regimen to prepare for his character. And the actor opened up about this intensive workout routine in a recent interview with People.

With Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom came the end of the Dceu, otherwise known as the Snyderverse. And while some celebrate its demise, there are also many who mourn the loss of their heroes. But before we turn the page completely, let’s take a look back and rank the entire DC Extended Universe. I’m sure this won’t be controversial at all.
17. Suicide Squad
It doesn’t seem likely that we’ll ever get the fabled Ayer Cut of this film, but the one we received was rough. Filled with enough licensed music that it feels like a music video, Suicide Squad does everything wrong. From characters being introduced multiple times to the worst iteration of the Joker ever put to film, everything about this one is just a mess. If you love plots that don’t make sense and bad CGI, then this one is for you.

Created in 1938 by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster, Superman may not have been the first costumed crime fighter of the comics world (Lee Falk's "The Phantom" hit the funny pages two years earlier), but he quickly became the exemplar of the American superhero — due in large part to the timing of his arrival.
After the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor compelled the United States to officially enter World War II, kids were desperate to believe the world wasn't on the verge of becoming a fascist hellhole; and people were well aware that, to avoid this outcome, hundreds of thousands of young Americans were going to get blown to pieces on foreign soil. So what was the harm in occasionally escaping to a fantastical alternate reality in which a morally righteous alien (i.e. immigrant) continually thwarted the will of evildoers like Lex Luthor?

Director Matthew Vaughn would love the chance to shake things up in two film franchises that fans hold sacred.
Speaking on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, Vaughn said he and comic book writer Mark Millar had the big concept of “a three-picture trilogy” on Superman for Warner Bros.
“We pitched how to do a trilogy of Superman movies. Warners wasn’t interested. That’s as far as it went,” Vaughn said. It “never came back around” after that, he added.
The proposed trilogy would have borrowed from the Richard Donner Superman films.

“Kingsman” and “X-Men: First Class” director Matthew Vaughn appeared on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast and was surprisingly open when asked about his relationship to a handful of major Hollywood franchises, from James Bond to “Star Wars” and the DC Universe. As a whole, he said the major Hollywood studios have been suffering by prioritizing their wallets.
“The studios, it’s like any artistic form. The music business, movies, fashion… the financing and the commerce has taken over the creative,” Vaughn said. “That always means eventually for short-term gains you do well, but long term you kill everything. That’s what’s happening now… film, music, art. Commerce took over and now the pendulum is starting to swing back. Creativity should always be the driving force of any decision and then you think about how to make money out of it afterwards. If you try to make money upfront, you’ll kill some great franchises.

The sudden vacant feeling and confusion after a really addictive series ends is something most of us are familiar with, and for some reason, it feels even more disheartening in the case of superhero-oriented content. Perhaps due to the scarcity of wholesome content or how much the adventures of the Man of Steel help us to reinstate our belief in good virtues, humanity, and a hopeful future. Which is the reason why earlier this year, the completion of the third season of Superman and Lois left us fans craving for more, and the recently ended animated series My Adventures With Superman has caught us in disbelief about having to wait almost a year to get the second season.
The first season of My Adventures With Superman revolved around the initial days of Superman and, by that definition, also focused on the beginning of the journey of Lois, Jimmy, and Clark as friends and journalists.

It’s safe to say that The Flash didn’t exactly live up to expectations. Despite being touted as one of the “best superhero films ever made,” the movie received mixed reviews and absolutely crashed and burned at the box office, ending its entire theatrical run with just $268.5 million. Now that The Flash is available on home media, it may just enjoy a second life, and Deadline has reported that the movie pulled in 1.1 million US households following its weekend debut on Max.
That number is 8% less than the weekend debut of Black Adam, which pulled in 1.2 million US households. The debut of other DC movies on Max have been more impressive, with The Suicide Squad seeing 2.8 million US households and Wonder Woman 1984 doing 2.2 million US households during their respective weekend debuts.

Of all the movies to emerge from the Snyderverse (aka the Dceu), "Man of Steel" might be the most palatable. It's true that Henry Cavill was a great Superman who never got a great Superman movie, but 2013's "Man of Steel" did at least represent Snyder's efforts to try something new with the titular hero. While it was slightly muddled in its attempts to meld more fantastical elements with the gritty realism of a Christopher Nolan Batman movie — the esteemed director served as producer on "Man of Steel" — the film that kicked off the Dceu was arguably the strongest entry in the entire ill-fated enterprise.
Unfortunately, a muddled tone and somewhat forgettable story weren't the film's only issues. Many fans of Supes took issue with the end of "Man of Steel," in which Cavill's Kal-El kills the film's villain, Michael Shannon's General Zod — recently resurrected for the box office disaster that was "The Flash.

“The Flash” is here.
And this time the scarlet speedster (played by Ezra Miller) has really gotten himself into a pickle: during an effort to travel back in time and save his mother, he’s knocked out of his timeline and winds up in a dimension where his mom is still alive (yay!) but there aren’t any other superheroes (boo!) This becomes even more problematic when Zod shows up to conquer a Superman-free earth. See, a real pickle!
But a question that looms even larger than: can The Flash save both of his timelines and return home is … should you, as an audience member attending a showing of “The Flash,” stick around afterwards for a post-credits scene? Read on to find out. The survival of your universe could depend on it.
Is there a post-credits scene after “The Flash?”
Yes, there is. The year is 2023. “The Flash” is a superhero movie.

“The Flash” has finally arrived.
After several attempts (this iteration of the character has been brewing since at least 2013) and substantial controversy, the scarlet speedster has arrived in theaters with an accompanying whirlwind of both excitement and hesitation. Borrowing loosely from the event comic series “Flashpoint,” “The Flash” stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, a crime lab technician and superhero (or “metahuman” in DC speak) who decides to go back in time and prevent his mother’s murder (and his father’s arrest for said murder) but winds up being knocked out of his timeline and into an alternate reality that is very, very wrong. In this reality he is younger, doesn’t have superpowers and might be helpless to stop an alien invasion led by Zod (Michael Shannon), since this world doesn’t have any metahumans.
Can he find that world’s heroes, save the day, and get back to his own realm?...
