“Survivor” debuted on CBS as a summer program on May 31, 2000. Hosted by Jeff Probst since the very beginning, it is credited by many as starting the reality show craze that has been a major part of TV this century. After being on the air for two decades, 20 of the most iconic champions returned in Season 40’s “Winners at War” to compete in the first-ever all-winners season. Following a temporary delay due to Covid-19, the reality TV show continued with even more twists and turns, plus more diversity amongst its cast members. Tour our updated “Survivor” winners list above (or click here for direct access) that highlights everyone from Season 1’s Richard Hatch to the most recent.

Heading into the second episode of “Survivor 46,” the Yanu tribe was down one member after David Jelinsky was voted out unanimously. That left the Nami tribe and the Siga tribe in the lead numbers-wise as they both still had six people apiece. So how did everything play out on Wednesday night?

After 26 days full of Lulu losers, Belo blindsides and Reba revenge, the 45th winner of “Survivor” was crowned on Wednesday night during a three-hour event on CBS. But was it Austin Li Coon, Dee Valladares, Jake O’Kane, Julie Alley or Katurah Topps that claimed the $1 million grand prize?

At the start of “Survivor 43” it was looking like series history would be made if they had become the first season to vote five women out in a row. Thankfully they dodged setting what would have been an unfortunate record, but sadly “Survivor 44” is already in the same position. Setting aside the medevac of Bruce Perreault on Day 1, four women have once again been the first four voted out of a “Survivor” game. If the players extend it to a fifth next week, they will make history as the first and only cast to eliminate five women out in a row.
As things stand, the game will remain in the three tribe format for at least one more episode. Ratu voted Maddy Pomilla out first, Tika is responsible for sending home both Helen Li and Sarah Wade, and Soka ousted Claire Rafson after she sat her out for three straight immunity challenges.

Among the bruises, blunders and baffling decisions that filled the 2-hour premiere of “Survivor 44” on Wednesday night was the disheartening medical evacuation of 46-year old Bruce Perreault. It is never easy to see a player to leave the game for any reason other than being voted out, but Bruce’s exit stands out as especially frustrating because his fate was sealed literally minutes in to the start of the game. Luckily, Jeff Probst and the “Survivor” producers vowed this week to bring him back for a future season.
Jeff announced the decision Wednesday night on his new behind-the-scenes podcast, “On Fire with Jeff Probst.” In speaking on the vow, Jeff acknowledged what the players give up from their lives in order to journey to Fiji to compete and that he doesn’t think Bruce “got his fair share.” He went on to say that it was an easy call, and...

Netflix recently added Survivor Season 32 to its streaming library, introducing a new group of people to the Brains vs. Brawn vs. Beauty cast, including the season’s winner Michele Fitzgerald. Michele is a bit of a controversial figure in the Survivor community. But despite the pushback she received after the season 32 finale aired, Michele has continuously proved why she deserved to win in the years following her first television appearance.

Iowa-based police officer Sarah Lacina is perceived as a boring reality TV character, despite her winning Survivor: Game Changers and The Challenge: USA. She recently addressed the edits she received, noting her hilarious side doesn’t usually make the final episodes.

The castaways of “Survivor 43” have positioned themselves to set a new record next week — all they need to do is vote out a fifth woman in a row. So far the cast has only eliminated females: Morriah Young, Justine Brennan, Nneka Ejere and Lindsay Carmine were the first four players voted out, matching a franchise record. If they continue on this path and vote another woman out next week, they will go down in infamy as the record holders for longest succession of female eliminations to start a season. Yikes!
Luckily, as it stands in Gold Derby’s racetrack odds, the cast is not headed toward setting such a disastrous record. Instead, Geo Bustamante leads our current predictions to be eliminated in Episode 5 at 19/25. He is followed, however, by four women with decent odds to go: Cassidy Clark at 6/1 and Jeanine Zheng, Elisabeth ‘Elie’ Scott and Noelle Lambert all at...

Over the past 40 seasons of “Survivor,” men have won 25 times while women have only prevailed 15 times. (See the “Survivor” winners list.) The past six cycles in a row have all resulted in male champions, with the most recent woman winner being Sarah Lacina in Season 34. With the Season 41 finale set for Wednesday night, all eyes are on whether one of the last two females on the island (Erika Casupanan or Heather Aldret) can break the curse this year. Or will one of the three men prevail instead?

Jonathan Penner‘s wife Stacy Beth Title has died of Als at age 56. The three-time “Survivor” player tweeted the sad news on Monday. Title was an Oscar-nominated director for “Down on the Waterfront” who continued to work after her diagnosis in 2017. “Survivor” fans will remember Title from her two appearances on the reality TV show. She visited her husband during the “Cook Islands” loved ones reward in 2006 (watch above), and the couple appeared virtually for a “CBS Cares” profile about Als during “Winners at War” in 2020 (watch below).

In honor of its 20th anniversary, “Survivor” brought back 20 winners from previous seasons, but only one person came out on top during Wednesday’s finale.
During a socially distanced video call, host Jeff Probst revealed that Tony Vlachos won the season.
Heading into the final episode, five castaways remained to win the $2 million grand prize: Ben Driebergen, Denise Stapley, Michele Fitzgerald, Sarah Lacina and Tony. However, 14 formerly eliminated players were waiting in the Edge of Extinction to jump back into the game.
Like most shows caught filming during the coronavirus pandemic, “Survivor” had to go remote on Wednesday’s episode. Probst kicked off the show from his garage in a homemade set. The final contestants virtually joined him later in the episode to find out who won.

It seems like only yesterday the 20 returning “Survivor” champions returned for an epic clash in “Winners at War,” but now we’ve already reached the Season 40 finale. Heading into Wednesday’s three-hour event, only five castaways remained in the running to win the $2 million prize: Ben Driebergen, Denise Stapley, Michele Fitzgerald, Sarah Lacina and Tony Vlachos. But there were 14 players living on the Edge of Extinction who were itching for their chance to return to the game: Natalie Anderson, Amber Mariano, Danni Boatwright, Ethan Zohn, Rob Mariano, Parvati Shallow, Yul Kwon, Wendell Holland, Adam Klein, Tyson Apostol, Sophie Clarke, Kim Spradlin-Wolfe, Jeremy Collins and Nick Wilson. The 20th contestant, Sandra Diaz-Twine, quit after being voted out on Day 16.

Tony Vlachos is the only castaway of “Survivor: Winners of War” to not see his name written down even once during a Tribal Council vote — at least, so far. And, ever since the merge, he also has been pretty much large and in charge of who is saved and who is eliminated. The sometimes twitchy Sole Survivor from the Cagayan season of the CBS reality show has been also hugely entertaining on this 20th anniversary edition of the long-running show, whether eavesdropping on others in his so-called spy nest, briefly joyfully mistaking a disadvantage sent to him from the Edge of Extinction for an advantage or reacting to being pooped on by a bird.

“Survivor: Winners at War” sees 20 winners return to duke it out. It’s the greatest crop of contenders the game has ever seen. In my weekly “Battlelines” recap I will diagnose the casualty, declare who I think won the episode’s battle and who is best positioned to win the war. Please feel free to give me your thoughts in the comments below.
Battlelines re-calibrated and cemented
Last round, Tony Vlachos, Sarah Lacina, Ben Driebergen, Nick Wilson and Jeremy Collins voted together. Denise Stapley and Michele Fitzgerald were on the wrong side of things. This week Denise snuck into the group. Michele survived with an immunity win and Ben finally convincing his allies to cut Jeremy. Of the two tribals, Michele was the only person on the wrong side of the numbers both times. The battlelines have been re-calibrated but Michele stands alone on one side. Perhaps the returning player from extinction can provide backup.

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: Two cops walk into a tribal council… No, I can’t actually tickle you with an island funny because real talk: Tony and Sarah’s showings on Survivor: Winners at War have been no joke.
On Wednesday (beginning at 8/7c on CBS), Jeff Probst will crown the season’s victor with a $2 million check and the title of Sole Survivor, and that player could be (and should be) one of the show’s resident cops. Tony Vlachos, Sarah Lacina and Michele Fitzgerald are the leading candidates to win “Survivor: Winners at War,” as discussed in a new video recap with three Gold Derby superfans. Senior editors Marcus James Dixon and Susan Wloszczyna and contributing writer Kevin Jacobsen are all backing a different horse going into next week’s finale. Marcus thinks Michele, Susan is picking Sarah while Kevin is going with Tony. Who makes the most compelling case? Watch the lively discussion in the video chat above.
Wloszczyna is still backing her favorite, Sarah, because as she puts it, “I think she manipulates her cohorts Ben [Driebergen] and Tony more than they manipulate her. I think she’s the brains behind the operation more than them, but she lets them think that they are.”

“It’s the first time I’ve ever been voted out,” said Nick Wilson after being voted out of “Survivor: Winners at War” in Wednesday’s penultimate episode. In his post-show exit interview he continued on, “It feels different than I expected. I was starting to see my path towards the end, but it was all just a bunch of lies and deceit. I made it 34 days in the game. To make it the Final 6, I mean, I’m really proud of myself.”
Originally finding success in “Survivor: David vs. Goliath,” Nick was the most recent champion cast on this landmark 40th season of the show, which pit 20 of the most iconic winners against each other for a series-high prize of $2 million. Even though Nick was voted out, the comeback challenge is on the horizon. “I got a shot tomorrow, so we’ll see what I can do. I’ll fight to the end,...

Heading into the two-hour 13th episode of “Survivor: Winners at War,” seven castaways still remained in the running to win the $2 million prize: Denise Stapley, Michele Fitzgerald, Sarah Lacina, Nick Wilson, Tony Vlachos, Jeremy Collins and Ben Driebergen. Considering this 40th season started with 20 iconic winners facing off against each other, that’s quite the accomplishment indeed. After this second-to-last episode of the season was all over, who ended up having their torch snuffed by host Jeff Probst?

Most long-time “Survivor” devotees are enjoying “Winners at War,” the so-called “season on steroids” that has pitted 20 past winners against one another. The gameplay, alliance-making and strategizing has been quite intriguing. Even the Edge of Extinction is more interesting this time around as the booted players at least get chances to win fire tokens to use on advantages after completing grueling physical challenges and not just lay about the beach all day long.
But if Season 40 has had a downside, it’s that these former Sole Survivors have debased the one-time sacred ceremony of Tribal Council and taken it to a new low. In the good old days, host Jeff Probst presided over proceedings while questioning the castaways about the state of affairs within their tribe and who could be in danger of being voted out. But at some point recently, players acquired a habit of whispering to one another...

Battlelines redrawn again
We saw a recalibration of the battlelines after Tony Vlachos, Nick Wilson, Jeremy Collins and Michele Fitzgerald voted against Sarah Lacina, Ben Driebergen, Kim Spradlin and Denise Stapley to blindside Sophie Clarke. While Tony and Sarah patched things up, Nick made a final three deal with Michele and Denise. The three seemed on board with Kim’s plan to take Tony out. Ben was in the loop, but considering options. Tony winning immunity meant we didn’t see if these new alliances would hold.

It’s down to the wire on “Survivor: Winners at War” as we prepare for this week’s special two-hour penultimate episode. Heading into the Final Seven, several castaways are skating on thin ice for varying reasons, especially big threats like Tony Vlachos, Jeremy Collins and Sarah Lacina. Some fans are even thinking Ben Driebergen‘s time will finally come.
Ben has the highest chance of being voted out in Wednesday’s two-hour episode, according to Gold Derby odds. The “Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers” winner has 6/5 odds of going to the Edge of Extinction. Ben has been playing dangerously in the post-merge, earning the ire of Jeremy and ratting out plans to Tony. It’s possible if Tony wins another Immunity or protects himself with an idol that Ben could become a backup target. Then there’s Jeremy, who is very close with 14/5 odds of getting the boot. Jeremy...

You love Tony Vlachos, and CBS knows it. This winner of “Survivor: Cagayan” is the only castaway who gets a special shout-out in the preview trailer for Wednesday’s two-hour penultimate episode, and for good reason: Tony is simply killing it on “Survivor: Winners at War.” His endless idol-hunting, social-scheming, challenge-winning and tree-hiding have made him the reason to keep watching Season 40 as we near the end (the finale is scheduled for May 13). Watch the video clip above for the episode airing May 6.

It might not be a new phenomenon, but what was once a sacred ceremony on “Survivor” is now a chaotic, nerve-wracking mess of a ritual as castaways walk among each other to jibber and jabber in trios and pairs while others cautiously whisper their choice of who should be voted out.
It used to be that host Jeff Probst presided over Tribal Council and would prod answers out of whatever attendee seemed to be in hot water or in charge of the decision-making that happened at camp before the players trudged to the area with their torches.
Some believe that such protocol began to dissolve during the Caramoan season that aired in 2013 when the so-called Three Amigos —Malcolm Freberg, Ryan Toepfer and Eddie Fox — pulled off a triple immunity move that caused an outburst of chatter. More recently on 2017’s Game Changers season, there was a dual tribe vote that...

I was never the biggest fan of “The Facts of Life,” a sitcom about an all-girls boarding school that ran nine seasons on NBC from 1976 to 1988. But I learned through pop-culture osmosis that Tootie was played by Kim Fields, that Mindy Coen was Natalie and character actress Charlotte Rae was cast as Edna Garrett, a mother hen to a flock of adolescent lassies. I also was somewhat aware of Lisa Whelchel, who was spoiled rich girl Blair Warner on the popular show.
But when Whelchel signed on as a castaway on the 25th season of “Survivor” that took place in the Philippines in 2012, I became quite intrigued by her presence on the show. It was partly because she was able to keep her identity a secret from most of the other players, most who were too young to know about her ties with the sitcom.

On this week’s third to last episode of “Survivor: Winners at War,” Jeff Probst devilishly decided to offer temptation in the form of milk, chocolate, cookies and peanut butter during an especially grueling immunity challenge. While Denise Stapley and Tony Vlachos both hung in there and received safety at Tribal Council, three other former winners of the game — Nick Wilson, Kim Spradlin-Wolfe and Michele Fitzgerald all succumbed to their hunger pains by dropping out and chowing down. At least Nick got a fire token from his decision in the form of a bribe from Tony to quit.

“The feeling of being voted out was weird, but I’m not sorry for trying to gather the troops to take out Tony,” declared Kim Spradlin-Wolfe after her shocking elimination in “Survivor: Winners at War” Episode 12. Kim’s plan was to remove the wildest and most unpredictable player from the game, Tony Vlachos, but he was saved when he won his third immunity necklace in a row. “I think it was the right move and the game’s not over,” she added in her post-show exit interview.

Last week after Sophie Clarke‘s shocking blindside, the Top 8 contestants of “Survivor: Winners at War” were determined: Jeremy Collins, Ben Driebergen, Michele Fitzgerald, Sarah Lacina, Kim Spradlin-Wolfe, Denise Stapley, Tony Vlachos and Nick Wilson. With so much infighting and mistrust between the remaining players, there was no telling who might be eliminated this week. So how did everything play out, and whose torch did Jeff Probst snuff at the end of the hour?

As we enter the endgame of “Survivor: Winners at War,” the competition is heating up. And no one may be more equipped to handle the rising temperature than firefighter Jeremy Collins. In our exclusive interview with “Big Little Lies” star Adam Scott he opened up about his love of the game (watch here). He told us, “This is an incredible season. Maybe the best. It really is unbelievable. I’m really pulling for Jeremy. But I think everyone is aware he could easily win. I’m worried for him.”
Jeremy is a great player. He won the 31st season of the show, which saw returning players who failed to win come back for another tilt. He was able to stay in control throughout a turbulent season and won a unanimous victory from the jury. It would be so poetic if this champ from a season of all losers came back...

After a momentous episode, Tony Vlachos is now the frontrunner to win “Survivor: Winners at War.” For many weeks, Sophie Clarke had been Gold Derby’s top contender to win Season 40 but Tony just orchestrated a blindside on her in a carefully calibrated 4-3-2 move, sending her out with an idol in her pocket. Can Tony actually go all the way after this move? Gold Derby users seem to think so.
Tony currently has 3/1 odds of emerging victorious from “Survivor: Winners at War,” according to our winner predictions. He is the overwhelming favorite among all predictors, racking up more top votes than the other 18 contestants combined. Michele Fitzgerald is a distant second with 37/10 odds followed by Sarah Lacina in third at 9/2. Nick Wilson, Kim Spradlin and Denise Stapley are the only other players who have more than one top vote.

Battlelines are redrawn
One man, Tony Vlachos, completely redrew the battlelines. The previous episode he voted with Sophie Clarke, Sarah Lacina, Ben Driebergen and Nick Wilson. This time with Kim Spradlin and Denise Stapley joining that group to split votes between Jeremy Collins and Michele Fitzgerald, Tony saw an opening. Four votes from nine would now be enough to send someone to Extinction. He pulled Nick away and brought in Jeremy and Michele to blindside Sophie. If these new battlelines remain, we’ll see Tony, Nick, Jeremy and Michele against Sarah,...

It looks like the Cops-r-Us alliance on “Survivor: Winners at War” is about to be put out to pasture. After Tony Vlachos made the bold move to eliminate Sarah Lacina‘s close ally Sophie Clarke in last week’s episode, we see Sarah’s emotional reaction in CBS’s all-new preview trailer for Season 40, Episode 12 (watch above). “You just sunk my game!” Sarah tells Tony when they get back to camp. She then hisses, “I’m done! Do not talk to me ever again.” Can Tony find a way to reel in his cop buddy, or is the Sophie blindside the last move he’ll make?

After 11 episodes of “Survivor: Winners at War” only eight former champions remain in the main game while 11 others inhabit the Edge of Extinction awaiting their last chance to leave the jury and re-enter the competition. Last week, “Cagayan” winner Tony Vlachos dominated the game from all angles, putting him in a power position as the game nears its close, but placing an even bigger target on his back as he remains only one of two players in the game without a vote cast against them.
In the coming weeks Tony’s biggest job will be keeping the eyes off of him and on other players, but that may prove difficult now that he’s betrayed the trust of his closest ally, Sarah Lacina. Tony successfully maneuvered a vote to narrowly oust Sarah’s righthand woman, Sophie Clarke, without telling her. The move promises to fracture the cop alliance, possibly pushing...

After 11 episodes of “Survivor: Winners at War,” Tony Vlachos still has yet to receive a single vote at tribal council. Considering how much of a known threat he was heading into this epic 40th season, that is quite the accomplishment indeed. When this New Jersey police officer originally played in “Survivor: Cagayan,” his cutthroat attitude and penchant for lying made him one of the most slippery villains to ever win CBS’s reality TV show. He returned in “Survivor: Game Changers,” but his reputation got the best of him and he was the second player voted out.
“I’m on probation,” Tony joked in this season’s premiere when he first stepped foot on the Dakal beach. He desperately wanted to find a hidden immunity idol, but he knew if he disappeared he’d be on the chopping block. Tony’s tribe first went to tribal council on Day 3, but...

Last week on “Survivor: Winners at War,” the final 10 castaways seemingly divided into two groups of five, with Tony Vlachos, Sarah Lacina, Sophie Clarke, Ben Driebergen and Nick Wilson on one side and Jeremy Collins, Kim Spradlin-Wolfe, Michele Fitzgerald, Denise Stapley and Tyson Apostol on the other. Jeremy peaced out at tribal council thanks to his “safety without power” advantage, leaving his group at a numbers disadvantage they simply couldn’t overcome. In the end, Tyson was sent to the Edge of Extinction (again). Did Jeremy and Kim’s group rebound this week, or did Tony and Sarah’s group continue their dominance?

Battlelines are drawn
For the first time since the merge, battlelines were clearly drawn. No longer were a handful of players on the outs. There were two clearly defined groups of five firing at each other. On one side there was Tony Vlachos (who won immunity), Sophie Clarke (who had an idol), Sarah Lacina (who had a vote steal), Ben Driebergen and Nick Wilson. On the other side we saw Jeremy Collins (who had safety without power), Kim Spradlin (who had an idol), Tyson Apostol, Denise Stapley and Michele Fitzgerald.

After using her hidden immunity idol last week on “Survivor: Winners at War,” Kim Spradlin-Wolfe now sets her sights on one of the biggest threats still in the game: Tony Vlachos. “I think Tony is trying to play double agent,” she whispers to Denise Stapley in CBS’s latest preview trailer for Season 40, Episode 11 (watch above). The only problem? Tony has the upper hand numbers-wise, as his alliance of five outnumbers her group of four.

“Survivor” fan favorite Tyson Apostol often uses humor as a coping mechanism, but host Jeff Probst noticed something unusual after his second elimination from “Winners at War” in the 10th episode. Tyson’s walls came down. “I think that’s maybe the first time I’ve ever seen Tyson let us in just for a glimmer,” Probst declared in his weekly recap video (watch above). “It doesn’t mean he’s giving up. He knows he can win his way back in again. He just did it once. If he gets back in at the end, he is a threat. For a moment you saw, ‘Oh my God, they voted me out twice.'”

When “Survivor: Winners at War” host Jeff Probst reads the final votes of Season 40 (from the comfort of his own home), whose name will you be rooting for to see on the parchment? As of this writing, only nine castaways remain in the running to take home the series-high prize of $2 million, with one more scheduled to join them from the Edge of Extinction at a later date. And then there were 10. After weeks of epic challenges, jaw-dropping blindsides and fire token drama, “Survivor: Winners at War” took a break from the cutthroat competition this week to reunite the remaining castaways with their loved ones. We hope you had your tissues handy as Tyson Apostol, Sophie Clarke, Jeremy Collins, Ben Driebergen, Michele Fitzgerald, Sarah Lacina, Kim Spradlin-Wolfe, Denise Stapley, Tony Vlachos and Nick Wilson hugged and kissed their spouses, significant others, children, etc. After all was said and done, who had their torch snuffed by host Jeff Probst?

The most recent “Survivor” winner on the Season 40 cast will likely get voted out next, predict our users. Nick Wilson, who won Season 37 (“David vs. Goliath”), now finds himself on the bottom among the final 10 castaways, getting votes at the last Tribal Council and having very few allies left in the game. Nick came into “Survivor: Winners at War” as one of the least threatening former champions — not exactly a dominant competitor despite playing a strong social game. But now, as the majority alliance continues to pick off those types of non-threats in the post-merge, Nick’s time may be running out.
Nick currently has 3/2 odds of being the next boot of “Survivor: Winners at War,” according to Gold Derby user odds. However, if it’s not Nick that goes home in Wednesday’s loved ones episode, prognosticators are expecting it to be Tyson Apostol, who returned to the active...

When Tony Vlachos originally played in “Survivor: Cagayan,” his cutthroat attitude and penchant for lying made him one of the most despicable villains to ever win CBS’s reality TV show. He returned in “Survivor: Game Changers,” but his reputation got the best of him and he was the second player voted out. Now this New Jersey police officer is competing on “Survivor: Winners at War” against a group of past champions and, wouldn’t you know it, he hasn’t received a single vote yet at any tribal council. Has the one-time villain turned into a hero?

No one on “Survivor” could have prepared themselves for what’s about to happen in next week’s highly anticipated loved ones episode. In the past, a single friend or family member was allowed to visit the island to boost the contestants’ spirits and give them a little love. But as this is “Winners at War,” the reality TV show stepped things up dramatically by bringing on entire families. “This is a fantasy come true,” weeps Tony Vlachos as he embraces his wife and daughter. Season 40’s loved ones episode airs Wednesday, April 15 on CBS, but you can watch the preview trailer above right now.

“I made one too many mistakes,” Adam Klein sighed after being voted out during Wednesday’s episode of “Survivor: Winners at War.” In his exit interview from the Edge of Extinction, this “Millennials vs. Gen X” champion continued, “Three strikes and you’re out in this game. The thought that there was an idol at tribal allowed me to play more aggressively than I should have and it cost me.” Adam’s elimination was a not a shocker as he was Gold Derby’s odds-on pick to go home for the past several weeks in a row.

Heading into the ninth episode of “Survivor: Winners at War,” only 11 people remained in the running to win the $2 million prize: Tyson Apostol, Sophie Clarke, Jeremy Collins, Ben Driebergen, Michele Fitzgerald, Adam Klein, Sarah Lacina, Kim Spradlin-Wolfe, Denise Stapley, Tony Vlachos and Nick Wilson. With this being an all-winners season, everything was on the line for these 11 castaways, and no one wanted to have their torch snuffed by host Jeff Probst. So how did it all play out on Wednesday night?

Sophie Clarke wasn’t quite a legend tier “Survivor” champ heading into “Winners at War,” but that might just change by the end of this season. Starting with the fourth episode of the season, Gold Derby users have expected Sophie to be the champion of this all-winners season and our users haven’t budged since. Now, with 11 players including Sophie left in the game, the “South Pacific” winner is looking better and better to be cashing that $2 million check at the end of the game.
Sophie has a 31/10 chance of winning this 40th season of “Survivor,” according to our odds. Sophie got into a majority position on her tribe from the jump and stealthily called the shots in the shadows throughout the pre-merge. She was instrumental in last week’s merge episode, leading the charge to take out Wendell Holland. Sophie currently has more no. 1 votes than all other players on this cast combined,...

The upcoming ninth episode of “Survivor: Winners at War” looks like it’s gonna be scramble central, and we can’t wait. Following the elimination of Wendell Holland after the merge, only 11 castaways still remain in the running to win the $2 million prize: Tyson Apostol, Sophie Clarke, Jeremy Collins, Ben Driebergen, Michele Fitzgerald, Adam Klein, Sarah Lacina, Kim Spradlin-Wolfe, Denise Stapley, Tony Vlachos and Nick Wilson. “This is a high-stakes game and all hell breaks loose,” announces Adam in CBS’s latest preview trailer (watch above).

Save for longtime “Survivor” host Jeff Probst, there have been no participants who better define the CBS reality TV show than Sandra Diaz-Twine and Rob Mariano. Combined, these two players have appeared on a total of 11 seasons, including the current “Winners at War,” while Sandra still retains her record as the only two-time winner of the game.
Their strategic choices as castaways helped define how other players learned how to “outwit, outlast and outplay” as they voluntarily subjected themselves to the often harsh conditions of living in the wild. There is a reason why last season this pair was chosen to act as mentors to participants of “Island of the Idols,” even getting their their heads turned into giant tiki shrines.
