He was born in Rio Piedras Puerto Rico; and while his mother is Puerto Rican, he's of Mexican descent from his father.
Stephen was mostly raised by his Mother in Southern California. His Spanish accent leans toward Puerto Rican, which some call the "Singing Spanish."
As a child, Stephen was gifted a Kodak 35mm still film camera one holiday season, and it was then that he began to develop his passion capturing moments. His grandfather later bought a video camera, which became Stephen's by default because he used it so much.
In 2011, Stephen directed, shot and edited his first music video for the song "Physical Game" by the band Cruz. The music video aired on MTV Erotica(Brasil), as it was considered one of the sexiest music videos.
While filming some behind the scenes footage at NRG Recording Studios, Stephen was introduced to a talented musician/vocalist named Adam Lasher. Stephen has worked with Adam ever since.(2015)
In 2012, Stephen went to live in Puerto Rico with the goal of spending time with loved ones and developing his network and craft there. The result was working with popular Reggaeton Artists Jowell Y Randy, and producing a remote musical performance and interview with Juanes for a TV segment part of Telethon Espectacular/SER Puerto Rico.
In 2013 Stephen decided to continue his education, studying under professor Salvador Carrasco at Santa Monica College's Film Program. An opportunity arose to be one of 6 chosen in the program to represent the college in an accelerated creative production workshop and commercial competition created by Marcelo Alvarez and Sergio Guerrero of My Production Workshop.
Stephen and his teammates (Society of Six) created, developed, pre-produced, pitched, won, post-produced, and delivered a 30 second commercial and marketing campaign titled, "When was your first time?" for the product Sidral Mundet, Manzana Verde.
During the same time, Stephen shot his first album cover for Grammy award winning pianist and composer, Omar Akram for "Daytime Dreamer."
He maintains a relationship with the MPW mentors, working with them on various productions.
Stephen's primary objective creatively is to always be growing, moving step by step toward Cinematic Music Video's, Series Content and Short and Feature Length Films.
