Creighton Baird and Paulina Peña were married for two years, and then they got divorced. Four days after the ink dried on the papers to make it official they received the call about joining Race to Survive. The two didn’t let the end of their relationship stop them from a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete along with eight other teams for half a million dollars. The high-stakes USA Network adventure series has leveled up from the wilderness of Alaska to the unforgiving elements of New Zealand. Each duo puts their minds and bodies to the test in several legs through 150 miles of terrain over 40 days. They’ll have to work for every calorie and morsel of comfort or nourishment. There is no Gps or Wi-Fi. What they have is only what they can carry or on their back. Constantly working against the clock and with fellow competitors on their heels,...

The race is on. After a punishing first season that saw teams trek across the Alaskan wilderness, USA Network is heading to New Zealand for season 2 of the competition reality series Race to Survive.
Race to Survive: New Zealand will follow teams of contestants as they navigate harsh terrain in a quest to take home a $500,000 prize. Winning won’t be easy. Cast members will have to endure challenging conditions and tough competition as they speed toward the finish line.
“This is a pass or fail evolution,” one contestant says in the trailer for the new season (via YouTube). “You either make it or you don’t. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other.”
“It’s not a race to survive,” another observes. “It’s being able to survive the race.”

Nine two-person teams will be attempting to survive in treacherous New Zealand terrain on USA Network’s Race to Survive: New Zealand. This season’s competitors include endurance athletes, airborne firefighters, and river guides, all vying for the $500,000 grand prize.
“In the most harrowing outdoor adventure competition yet, challengers must rely on a combination of endurance racing, survival skills, and intuition as they navigate 150 miles of New Zealand’s harshest terrain,” reads USA Network’s synopsis. “From the depths of ancient caves to frigid alpine summits, every step and every calorie is hard-earned. However, strength and speed alone won’t be enough to win $500,000. Rather, only those with the strongest will to survive can claim this life-changing prize.”
The reality competition series is executive produced by Jeff Hasler, Brian Lovett, and Meredith Prunkard. Jeff Conroy serves as executive producer and showrunner. The season premieres on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 11pm Et/Pt with a 75-minute episode.
