Yair Hernández was born in Mexico City. At the age of 3 he made his first piano music composition, which was what prompted his parents to introduce him to the classical piano music career at the age of four. At age 7, he directed his first work for 10 organs at the Silvestre Revueltas hall, of the Ollin Yoliztli. He finished his classical career at age 12, having multiple classical compositions with a jazzy touch. That same tendency led him to study the music composition and composition career at E.S.C.A.M. With the great musician and arranger Elías Amabilis and other great jazz musicians. It continued to be updated for some time in Cuba (1997) and Vancouver (2005), taking specific workshops of interest. Later, together with his older brother Giovanni Hernández, a great musical composer who had also studied composition and battery at E.S.C.A.M. with great masters; Together they decided to create a band that was called Yagband that was disintegrated by external projects of composition. Yair continued composing on the other hand music for series of T.V. And in 2013 was twice nominated to the Cannes Festival for better music for T.V. series.
