Amanda Kernell won the pitching prize after the Co-Production Market presentation of her third feature film, The Curse - A Love Story while Thea Hvistendahl’s work in progress Handling The Undead, which reunites Renate Reinsve and Anders Danielsen Lie after The Worst Person in the World, hugely impressed buyers and festival programmers alike
The Curse will follow Kernell’s Venice 2016 premiere Sami Blood and Sundance 2020 selection Charter.

Etheria Film Night has unveiled its 2021 Official Short Films Showcase Lineup, which will stream exclusively on Shudder, AMC Networks’ streaming service for horror films and thrillers.
The films will be available Friday, June 25, through July 25. The festival is a showcase of horror, science fiction, fantasy, action and thriller films directed by women. This year’s edition will feature nine short films and honor “The Walking Dead” showrunner and executive producer Angela Kang with the 2021 Etheria Inspiration Award, given annually to a person in the entertainment industry who has inspired women to pursue careers working in genre film and television. Producer Gale Anne Hurd (“Terminator”) will present the award to Kang with the ceremony included as part of the official Etheria 2021 content streaming on Shudder.
