The Voice instant save is back - and made for a drama-filled live elimination show Tuesday as three artists fought for the final spot in the Top 10. Just one night after the remaining 12 artists delivered a string of well-received performances, the artists once again stood onstage, although this time it was to learn their fates. Host Carson Daly announced the artists who were safe throughout the first two-thirds of the show, until it finally became clear that only Team Adam Levine - who was enjoying his last evening as People's reigning Sexiest Man Alive - would be spared potential elimination.

I’m just kidding, of course. Sorta.
As Carson Daly announced tonight, Season 7 of NBC’s reality singing sensation is adding a new twist: Every Top 12 contestant eliminated before the finals (fourth- through 12th-place, in other words) will be brought back for a last-chance performance, with viewers advancing their favorite into the last week of the competition as a fourth “Wild Card finalist.”

Monday night TV is going strong with millions tuning in to both The Voice and Dancing with the Stars, and Et was on the set of both shows.
The tears flowed on DWTS last night with the big story being Alfonso Ribeiro's triumph through a painful back injury. The actor delivered a performance that landed him in third place on their semi-finals night.
News: Alfonso Ribeiro Dances Through Pain
"We're definitely going to rest," said Alfonso's pro partner Witney Carson. "No drinks for you," Witney told Alfonso.
"I need one," Alfonso joked. "I need just a little number."
Alfonso wasn't the only one who was dancing hurt. Janel Parrish showed us the red mark on pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy's neck from a dance move that involved swinging her around his head. In life, as on The Voice, the accomplishment-to-praise threshhold is not always a balanced one.
Your three-year-old makes a wee-wee on the potty, and you treat him like he’s earned the Nobel Prize in toilet-training. You make it to the gym on a Monday morning (after failing to go even once the week prior), and you’re suddenly Rocky atop the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It doesn’t matter that you had to crawl the last 10 feet to ascend the peak, you’re the heavyweight champ of your own feel-good movie.

The Voice, despite its rep as a feel-good, even-the-losers-win kinda party, is essentially the slasher film of the reality singing-competition genre.
Indeed, you don’t want to get too attached too quickly to any of the young pretties who make their way to the red-chair zone. After all, in the last month alone, Season 7′s Top 48 has been sliced, hacked, garotted and bludgeoned down to a lean, mean dozen finalists.

Two weeks ago, scores of Voice viewers thought coach Pharrell Williams made a questionable choice when he shockingly decided to keep Elyjuh Rene over the highly praised Ricky Manning in the knockout rounds. But on the second night of the live playoffs on Tuesday, the seeming wisdom of Williams's selection shone through when the California-based singer, 18, delivered an emotional rendition of "Latch" that had all four coaches on their feet. Blake Shelton was the only coach with a steal going into the final part of the knockout rounds, and he used it to take Craig Wayne Boyd to the live rounds on The Voice.
Team Blake: Allison Bray vs. Taylor Brashears
Blake paired Allison Bray and Taylor Brashears in the hopes of narrowing down his country artists. Allison came into rehearsals with Dixie Chicks’ “Sin Wagon” wearing six-inch heels, which Taylor Swift thought were hindering her performance. After taking her shoes off, per Swift’s request, Allison was able to let loose onstage.
Taylor went for a different tone, choosing “Landslide,” hoping to show off a softer side to her voice. Taylor struggled with some notes during rehearsals, and Swift encouraged her to really connect to one person in the audience to sing to.
Gwen Stefani was impressed with Allison’s stage presence, but was blown away by Taylor’s intricate vocals.

Adam Levine ended Monday's episode of "The Voice" with a critical steal that he believes makes his team "10 times stronger" than before. -Break- Monday's two-hour show featured the first night of knockout rounds with 12 artists in six contests. Coach Pharrell Williams ended the episode with a battle between two of his best: Luke Wade and Taylor Phelan. Wade was the chosen winner in singing the Hall and Oates song "Rich Girl" over Phelan with Clean Bandit's "Rather Be." During the knockouts, each coach only has one steal and special advisor Taylor Swift assisting them. All three other coaches -- Levine, Gwen Stefani, and Blake Shelton -- hit their buttons and made their cases to Phelan for joining their teams. He (and his wife in the audience) selected Levine because he has been championing Phelan for many weeks. The first battle of the evening for Team Gwen also offered up an exciting steal.

The Voice battle rounds began, putting coaches Gwen Stefani, Pharrell Williams, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine in the hot seat, and prompting some surprising steals.
Team Pharrell: Elyjuh René vs. Maiya Sykes
Team Pharrell kicked the night off with the very first battle, pitting Elyjuh René up against Maiya Sykes, a four-chair turn around. Elyjuh screamed with joy, and even began to tear up a little, when he saw Alicia Keys in the room. Not only that, but the duo was tasked with singing Keys’ own “If I Ain’t Got You” – with Alicia Keys sitting behind the piano. Sykes seemed like the favorite to win in rehearsals, but she was gracious, giving Elyjuh some help hitting the high notes.
Both gave strong performances, but in the end Pharrell stuck with Elyjuh, impressed with how he handled the high notes, saying he wanted to see how much he’d grow.

Lawson, 35, was one of the standout talents on the season 7 premiere, and his song choice certainly seemed like a metaphor for his future – which hopefully includes fewer pat-downs and many more stages.

Damien Lawson, a Tsa officer from Los Angeles, sang the Boyz II Men classic "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday" on Monday's season premiere of The Voice. But judging by his performance, it might be easier than he could have dreamed to let go of the past. Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams made their debut as coaches on The Voice in the first episode of blind auditions, and went head to head with seasoned coaches Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.
Blind Auditions Part 1
First up was soul singer Luke Wade, who grew up as a dancer – his mother owned a dance studio. Luke got all four chairs to turn around about 10 seconds into his performance, kicking the season off strong.
Adam, anticipating a fight to the death, squatted on his chair, ready to stand up on his chair – his new signature move. “We did it! We won The Voice! This is amazing,” Adam said. (He’s mistaken.) Not to be outdone, Pharrell was quick to name-drop and whip out the producer card: “I want to be your amplifier.” In the end, Pharrell proved his smooth talking would rake in the contestants, winning over the first four-chair turn of the night.

Get to know the sensational singers that the coaches fought over in the Season 7 premiere of 'The Voice'…
Pull up a chair, because The Voice is officially back for their seventh season!
The Voice veterans, (and founding members of TV’s best bromance) Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are back, and this time they've brought two new faced to the Emmy award-winning series: No Doubt's leading lady, Gwen Stefani, and the man who creates all the songs that get stuck in your head, producer Pharrell Williams.
To kick off the new season and celebrate the first night of blind auditions, the musically-inclined foursome took the stage to gift fans with a cover of Gwen and Pharrell’s 2001 hit, “Hella Good.” All in all it was a pretty good performance, but we wanted to rip our hair out when Gwen kept making the audience sing the obnoxious “Ooo! Ooo!” call-and-answer. Come on...

I’m too lazy to Google it, but I’m pretty sure Jim Carrey had movie maybe 10 years ago where his character said “yes” to everything, all the time, immediately.
Somehow, that same madcap spirit seems to have infiltrated Season 7 of The Voice — where Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and newcomers Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani were slapping their buttons and turning their chairs not just from the opening three notes, but in some instances from the first pre-performance throat-clearance.

NBC offered up a cruel tease that established the styles of new coaches on “The Voice” and offered up a cliffhanger with a sneak peek at the upcoming season. Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani join Blake Shelton and Adam Levine on the panel, and by the time Luke Wade made his way to the stage, the four judges were settled in and ready to fight for the singers they were most passionate about.
