People have been clamoring and clowning about the whereabouts of Normani’s debut album for a pop-music eternity. The singer made that noise sound pretty fucking silly when she recently reflected that part of the delay was due to her parents’ simultaneous cancer diagnoses. Normani first announced that her solo debut was in the works in 2018, not long after the girl group she came to prominence in, Fifth Harmony, pumped its breaks for an indefinite hiatus. She went on to drop a few massive features and singles (“Love Lies,” with Khalid; “Dancing With a Stranger,...

Khalid has released a new single, “Adore U,” via Right Hand Music Group/RCA Records. The lovelorn song was written by Khalid and produced by Digi and Justin Lucas.
“Adore U” follows the musician’s previously released single “Please Don’t Fall In Love With Me,” with both tracks heralding a new chapter for Khalid and his forthcoming third album, expected “soon.”
The single sees Khalid crooning about a romantic partner: “Started on two different pages/ I’m happy we made it/ You say that you’re broken/ I’m...

Normani Channeled Janet, Recruited Brandy, and Put ‘Absolutely Everything’ Into Her Album ‘Dopamine’
About four years ago, Normani seemed to disappear. The 28-year-old artist, who made it big as part of the girl group Fifth Harmony, went solo after the group disbanded in 2018, and found success with collaborations alongside Sam Smith and Khalid. She toured with Ariana Grande and riled up fans with her first single, the instantly catchy “Motivation.”
And then, her momentum slowed down. Normani would pop onto the scene briefly, drop a single or two, and then fade away again. She dealt with some ups and downs that kept her from releasing consistent music,...

Copenhagen, Denmark – Markus Artved, the talented indie musician and producer from Copenhagen, has released his latest single, “Hey Dreams,” under his project, Honey Hideout. This new track comes as a prelude to Honey Hideout’s debut EP, slated for release later this year.
A Journey Through Dreams and Realities
“Hey Dreams” explores the profound and often poignant realization that life doesn’t always turn out as we’ve planned. In moments when time feels fleeting, there is beauty in surrendering to the present and embracing life’s unpredictable twists and turns. Markus Artved invites listeners into this introspective space with his newest musical offering.
“Dreams are fleeting and often impossible to recite or remember to their full extent when we wake up. On the contrary, the dreams that each of us have for the future are both infinite and everlasting, but they also change as we develop and grow. When a dream eventually comes true,...

Building an illegal weapons factory is expensive. When convicted torturer Ross Roggio built his factory in Iraqi Kurdistan and manufactured guns that ended up in the hands of militant groups, including Hamas, he needed millions of dollars. That money came from Zarya Faruk, the son of a Kurdish billionaire.
Roggio, whose case Rolling Stone covered in depth, is now in jail, but until recently, the whereabouts of Faruk have remained a mystery.
Faruk was allied with a powerful Kurdish politician in northern Iraq. When that man was ousted, the fallout hit Faruk,...

Chloe Brown and Michael Shiakallis were our last hope for a successful marriage on Season 17 of Married at First Sight, but sadly we were left disappointed.
At this point, all five couples have called it quits with Chloe and Michael being the last match to end their marriage.
The couple tied the knot later in the season since Michael’s first bride left him jilted at the altar and he got a doover with Chloe.
However, all that effort was wasted–at least according to angry Mafs fans who’ve been blasting Michael on social media.
He was the one who opted to get divorced on Decision Day, claiming he wasn’t ready for marriage, despite convincing the audience and the experts otherwise.
Chloe wanted to stay married and work on their relationship away from the reality TV cameras, but Michael had other plans.

American indie filmmaker Crystal Moselle has been on both sides of the scripted/non-scripted aisle of storytelling. Her 2015 documentary “The Wolfpack,” about six Angulo brothers confined to a Lower East Side New York housing project apartment while passing their days reenacting scenes from their favorite movies, won the Grand Jury Prize for Documentary at Sundance that year. Her Gotham-nominated feature “Skate Kitchen” took a scripted narrative approach to rolling back the ins and outs of a chaotic subculture of female skateboarders, all coming of age, in New York City. Her latest feature “The Black Sea,” co-directed by the film’s star Derrick B. Harden, takes an entirely unscripted approach to the drama of a Brooklyn barista, Khalid (also played by Harden), with dreams of his own left stranded in Bulgaria, passport stolen, after a catfishing scheme implodes before his eyes.

It was less than a week ago that Variety’s Brian Steinberg pointed out that NBC had stopped airing older episodes of Saturday Night Live in its Saturday at 10pm “SNL Vintage” time slot.
Instead, as Steinberg reported, the network has been favoring more recent episodes from this season or last.
As if on cue, NBC announced this week’s SNL Vintage: the March 9, 2019 episode with host Idris Elba and musical guest Khalid.
Whether or not 2019 can actually be considered “vintage” is open to interpretation, but it’s certainly more so than this past week’s episode, a rerun of the Sydney Sweeney-hosted SNL from the week before.
Launched in September 2014 ahead of Saturday Night Live’s 40th season, SNL Vintage has presented episodes going all the way back to the show’s inception in 1975. Episodes have, at times, been chosen to coincide with the time of year, or...

Rejoice, country music fans! Kane Brown released a tune with Blake Shelton on his most recent album. Brown revealed he was working on a tune that sounded like Shelton and decided he should work with the icon himself. Despite the success of these two artists, the tune in question has been ignored by the radio.
Kane Brown thought 1 of his songs sounded like Blake Shelton’s ‘God’s Country’
During a 2022 interview with Billboard, Brown discussed the creation of his song “Different Man.” “I was driving to the gym — that’s where I really have time to think and listen,” he said. “I wanted one more feature on the album, and Blake was the first person I thought of. The song just reminded me of the ‘God’s Country’ kind of Blake Shelton, so I felt like it made sense.”

Of course Sza’s Sos was the album I played the most in 2023 — but remember, it came out in December 2022 and I ranked it second on last year’s list of top albums, obviously under Beyoncé’s Renaissance.
Though Sza owned the year, several great albums showed up in 2023. Here are the projects that lived rent free in my home and in my headphones.
1. Victoria Monét, Jaguar II
It’s a beautiful thing when someone working to help others achieve their dreams steps into the limelight. With Jaguar II, that’s Victoria Monét. The songwriter behind hits for Ariana Grande and others has been releasing incredible music for years — check out 2018’s Life After Love, Pt. 2 and 2020’s Jaguar if you’re just arriving at her fan club — but she’s finally at the forefront, and her major label debut album is a masterpiece. Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt couldn’t have guessed their first time scoring a film together would be the biggest movie of the year.
For the duo, working with A-list artists — such as Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, Adele, Lorde and Bruno Mars — is nothing new. And Ronson had even previously scored a film before: 2015’s Mortdecai. But taking on Greta Gerwig’s Barbie? That was a different feat. As Wyatt explains, they’re the type of people to “dive in the pool and learn how to swim later” — and they’re definitely taking laps now.
Not only has the Margot Robbie-led film broken box office records, but Barbie: The Album was a chart-topping and Grammy-nominated hit, which Ronson finds “amazing and totally baffling.” With a lineup of songs including Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night,” Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?”, Ryan Gosling’s “I...

[This story contains spoilers from the first four episodes of season six of The Crown.]
A question that has lingered around The Crown since its introduction of Princess Diana in season four is how the fictional drama will deal with the real-life death of the Princess of Wales in 1997. The storyline comes to a head in part one of the sixth and final season of the series, now streaming on Netflix, which finds Princess Diana (Elizabeth Debicki) and Dodi Al-Fayed (Khalid Abdalla) exploring the beginnings of a relationship.
Over the course of four episodes, audiences see how not only the couple’s lives but their budding romance was snatched from them in its infancy, smothered by the media and Dodi’s father, Mohamed Al-Fayed’s (Salim Daw), own selfish desires for his son and his business empire.

Recreating the joyful romance and deep bond that existed between Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed in the weeks leading up to their tragic deaths in a Parisian car crash after being relentlessly pursued by paparazzi helped The Crown actors Elizabeth Debicki and Khalid Abdalla navigate dramatizing the sad, dark incident for the Netflix series’ sixth season.
Speaking at a Q&a session immediately following a screening of the first episode of Season 6 at the Regency Village Theater in Westwood, Debicki admitted that, as she prepared to portray the princess whom she originally played in Season 5, she was heartbroken by the series of events leading to her demise.
“I’ll be honest, I was devastated at the time,” Debicki said during the panel moderated by Deadline’s Executive Awards Editor Joe Utichi. “I remember I read all four [of the episodes] and then I took a deep breath and went and just laid down somewhere.

The Crown cast is opening up about the emotional moments of filming the Netflix hit’s sixth and final season, which follows Princess Diana’s final days and her fatal car crash in Paris.
Diana star Elizabeth Debicki joined co-stars Jonathan Pryce (who plays Prince Philip) and Khalid Abdalla (who plays Dodi Fayed) on the Los Angeles red carpet on Sunday, which marked the first major premiere since the end of the actors strike. Rufus Kampa, who plays a young Prince William, and Fflyn Edwards, who plays a young Prince Harry, were also in attendance. (The final season is split into two parts, with the first half releasing Thursday.)
Debicki, who took over playing the Princess of Wales from Emma Corrin in season five, noted that “it’s been a really unusual and beautiful job and it always came with a huge amount of responsibility,” particularly when it came to dealing with her death.

The Crown star Elizabeth Debicki has described shooting the scenes in the lead-up to Princess Diana’s death as “completely unbearable.”
With Netflix set to premiere the royal smash’s final series next week, which includes Diana’s death, Debicki said recreating some of the most poured over scenes in modern history was “difficult,” describing the task as “heavy and very manic and incredibly invasive.”
Netflix has already made clear that Diana’s death in a car crash in Paris will take place off screen but the lead-up includes the days prior to the crash and the heavy press attention that Diana and her partner Dodi Fayed (Khalid Abdalla) generated. The Crown director Christian Schwochow recently detailed to Deadline the extraordinary efforts that went into ensuring these scenes were handled with tact.

Winter songs are meant to act like a warm blanket during the coldest time of the year. Since the season encourages us to stay indoors, winter songs offer us some much needed comfort when we're feeling alone. That's why they often touch on serious topics from isolation and seasonal depression to lost love and the feeling of hopelessness. However, not all winter songs are sad songs. Some capture the excitement of the holiday season with lyrics about having fun in the snow, spending time with family, and falling in love with someone new. They also touch on new beginnings, with spring just on the horizon.
So, if you're in need of a cozy playlist, here are 15 songs that touch on both the highs and lows of the winter season.
1. Songs About Winter: "Winter Song" by Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson
In "Winter Song," Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson compare the chilly season to tough times.

Halloween has arrived, and celebrities have gone all out to dress up as other pop cultural icons. The SAG-AFTRA guidelines for Halloween this year advised members to not post photos of costumes inspired by struck work on social media, to choose costumes inspired by generalized Halloween tropes or to dress up as characters from non-struck content like cartoons or other animated TV shows.
“SAG-AFTRA issued Halloween guidance in response to questions from content creators and members about how to support the strike during this festive season. This was meant to help them avoid promoting struck work, and it is the latest in a series of guidelines we have issued,” the guild said in a statement.
But not all actors complied.

Sunday brought a close to the 10th Life Is Beautiful music festival in Las Vegas, and with it the end of the summer festival season. Life Is Beautiful, which has taken place in the city every year for the past decade (save for a pandemic-related 2020 cancellation), brought tens of thousands of concertgoers downtown, many in the psychedelic and post-Y2K fashion that’s been so common at festivals for the past several years, though this time with a fair amount of Barbie influence, too.

With Saturday marking the first official day of Autumn, Las Vegas’ Life is Beautiful is the last hurrah of the summer festival season.
Life Is Beautiful is unique in that it doesn’t take place in a large field or a city park, but smack dab in the middle of Vegas’ eclectic downtown, turning parking lots into disco rooms, hotels into art exhibits, and swaths of streets into stage areas. There’s neon everywhere, a giant fire-spewing metal Praying Mantis by the festival’s entrance, and fitting to the Life Is Beautiful message,...

Wesley Snipes’ Blade from 1998 was a big moment for the Marvel brand. The film breathed new life into the legendary comic label as the company was facing uncertainty in its future. Blade was more of an obscure character that many didn’t recognize nearly as much as Spider-Man or X-Men. However, its crossover appeal with the vampire element, as well as Snipes being one of the 90s biggest action heroes, the first film in the series became the first successful film in the company.
Flash forward to today and Marvel is now a Hollywood institution, and to an extent, its own sub-genre. There are many different connotations that can be implied when people refer to a “Marvel movie.” Things are about to come full circle as the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been preparing to integrate the vampire hunter into the newest phase. Rapper Travis Scott is one person who is eager for the new interpretation.

Kuala Lumpur, Sep 8 (Ians) The ketogenic (keto) diet may not only help lose that extra fat but also cut down hormone imbalances, enabling women with polycystic ovary syndrome (Pcos) to conceive, according to a new study.
Pcos is the most common hormone disorder in women, affecting 7-10 per cent of women of childbearing age. It can cause infertility and raises the risk of developing diabetes, obesity and other metabolic health problems.
The keto diet is a high fat, low carbohydrate diet that has shown promising effects in women with Pcos. Research has found it may help women lose weight and maintain weight loss, improve their fertility, optimise their cholesterol levels and normalise their menstrual cycles.
“We found an association between the ketogenic diet and an improvement in reproductive hormone levels, which influence fertility, in women with Pcos,” said Khalid, from the Ministry of Health Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are heading for divorce, according to TMZ. Sources claim the Jonas Brothers singer is consulting with divorce lawyers in LA and will file imminently.
The split allegedly stems from “serious problems” that arose at least six months ago and reached a breaking point as Jonas has been tasked with taking care of their two children “pretty much all of the time,” including while traveling on his band’s current world tour.
It’s also been noted that he’s been seen without his wedding ring recently, and the couple sold their Miami mansion for $15 million in mid-August.
The pair began dating in 2016 and were first married in a Las Vegas wedding officiated by an Elvis impersonator in May 2019. Joe and his brothers performed, as did Dan + Shay, with Khalid and Diplo among the attendees. They held a second ceremony in France the following month.

Jarhead 2: Field of Fire feels like a parody of sorts initially. The opening monologue has a lot of profanity, which you wouldn’t usually hear in the kind of war movies that go to the Oscars. Given that it was released directly on VOD, it is understandable that this one wouldn’t have the seriousness or technical brilliance of Jarhead (2005), which was directed by none other than Sam Mendes, or that of any other iconic war movie like Saving Private Ryan (1998).
However, as it moves forward, the movie takes itself seriously and actually makes it a point to tell a story that has merit. The tonal shift is sort of abrupt, but there is plenty of action, and the story is quite easy to grasp. With its arrival, Jarhead 2 has received a new surge in popularity, which is understandable. That was the cry as customers flocked to Chicago’s iconic The Wiener’s Circle hot dog stand on Saturday. While the restaurant is known for its food and brusque staff, the overflow attraction yesterday was singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, who was working the counter.
Sheeran announced on social media that he’d be giving away hot dogs at the establishment Saturday afternoon. A smiling Sheeran indeed was there, talking to fans and customers and serving up the iconic stand’s tasty hot dogs.
No explanation was given for the surprise appearance, which may be part of the next celebrity trend. Recently, Lana del Rey was spotted working at a Waffle House in Alabama. Prince William was also seen handing out Earthshot veggie burgers at a UK food truck.

Barbie is finally in theaters, and along with it is Barbie: The Album, a dance-inducing soundtrack curated by Mark Ronson featuring songs from Lizzo, Charli Xcx, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Haim, Tame Impala, and more. Listen to the album below.
Greta Gerwig’s film opens with Lizzo’s “Pink,” which soundtracks the titular doll’s perfect life in Barbieland and serves as an ode to the color that experienced a shortage thanks to the movie’s production. Other highlights from the Barbie soundtrack include Charli Xcx’s “Speed Drive,” Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?,” and, of course, Ryan Gosling’s ballad, “I’m Just Ken.” We wouldn’t want to spoil the movie with any more...
