Emil Dam Seidel is an award winning Danish film director.
His holographic film, 'Telos I' was nominated for the Best Immersive Work Award in the inaugural Compétition Immersive at the 77th Festival de Cannes and was exhibited for the duration of the festival. It is the only holographic film in history to be selected for competition at the Festival de Cannes.
In 2022 Emil received a Silver Screen Young Director Award at the Cannes Lions international Festival of Creativity for his short, interactive web-series, 'Courage to Act'. And the year before he directed and produced the acclaimed short film 'She', which had its international premiere at the Fotografiska Museum New York, collected several awards and screened at more than 40 film festivals across the globe.
Before starting his own career as a film director, Emil assisted R. Thomas Vinterberg on the Oscar winning film 'Another Round'. He later became Vinterberg's 2nd Unit Director on the Tv-series 'Families like Ours'. Emil's professional film career was kick-started in 2013 when he assisted the Oscar winning director R. Susanne Bier on the film 'A Second Chance'.
This summer Emil's concept 'Lethe - A Search for the Waters of Oblivion' is being staged in collaboration with choreographer Dorotea Saykaly at La Biennale di Venezia as part of the Biennale Danza 2024 program.
