UK duo Gorgon City have been steadily unleashing their Kingdom project over the last several months, an ambitious double album that the group has been dropping in installments. Part 1 was released in August, featuring songs like “All Four Walls,” “Blue Parrot” and “Zoom Zoom” with Wyclef Jean, while the duo began to unveil Kingdom Part 2 in September with the first single “Smile” featuring Elderbrook. Now, Belgian DJ The Magician is offering up his own rework of “Smile.”
Compared to the original song, The Magician opts to pick up the pace a bit and layer in a more intricate rhythmic backing. Four on the floor drums pound out a beat alongside echoed ambience and bubbly bass notes, crafting an upbeat backdrop for Elderbrook’s vocals to soar over. The remix offers up pristine melodies and uplifting vibes, which pair perfectly with the club friendly grooves.

Gorgon City have unveiled another track off their upcoming second album, teaming up with Haitian rapper Wyclef Jean on a new single titled “Zoom Zoom.” Following up on previous efforts like “All Four Walls,” and “Impaired Vision,” the duo’s latest effort serves as the fourth single for Kingdom, the first half of which is set to be released in August.
“Zoom Zoom” is a deep house cut infused with tribal elements, while Wyclef Jean’s distinctive vocals serve as a highlight throughout the single’s five minute run time. Ethereal synths and atmospheric samples open the song, gradually building up to the more dance oriented material. Layered percussion and four on the floor kicks then combine to give the song a world flavored rhythm, accompanied by a catchy bassline.
“Zoom Zoom” is more of an underground track than a straight banger, but there’s plenty of energy to satisfy club goers.

English duo Gorgon City have released a new single today, teaming up with rapper Tink and singer Mikky Ekko for a track titled “Impaired,” which sees Gorgon City emphasizing the vocal collaborators while putting their top notch musicality on full display.
“Impaired” is a slow burner of a downtempo track, opening with the mellow tones of a somber synthesizer progression and dark atmospherics. Gorgon City take their time building the song up, letting its quiet intro linger on past the one minute mark before mixing in percussive elements. Eschewing complex sound design, “Impaired” lets the dancefloor energy take a back seat to Tink’s rap verses and Mikky Ekko’s ghostly pitched down vocals, as clanky drums and buzzing synths drone on in the background.
With a focus on mood and texture, Gorgon City craft “Impaired” into an emotive electronic ballad that stands out as a memorable single against the bulk of their work.

You can always depend on Gorgon City to deliver tasteful UK garage. Three weeks after releasing the official music video for “All Four Walls,” the English duo have returned with “Blue Parrot” – a track driven by a considerably more introspective groove than its festive title might suggest.
A brooding bass line meets with busy percussive elements to instill a markedly dissonant ambience in “Blue Parrot.” A solitary vocal sample rings out every several measures, fitting the track for circulation throughout dance music’s more subversive channels.
As for the title, Gorgon City revealed in an Instagram post that they drew inspiration from a Playa Del Carmen nightclub of the same name. It is one of several that will eventually come out on the duo’s upcoming album, Kindom.

No festival has gone on as long as Mysteryland Nl, so its lineup announcements make for big news in the Dutch electronic music scene. For that reason, the festival’s organizers have spared no means in putting out an initial lineup that solidifies it as a massive not to be missed.
For starters, Dutch superstars Afrojack and Martin Garrix accompany none other than Diplo on the top row of the lineup. Robin Schulz, Galantis, Gorgon City and Seth Troxler will each perform at the festival as well, in addition to dozens of other artists who have also found their names on the esteemed roster.
The inaugural edition of Mysteryland Nl took place on the Midland circuit in Lelystad, which means that the 2016 edition – which will take place in Haarlemmermeer on August 27th-28th – will mark the 24th edition of the festival. Check out the first lineup announcement below and keep...

There’s nothing quite like seeing an act like Gorgon City live, which appears to have been the thought process responsible for their latest video. The English garage duo just uploaded the official music video for their new track, “All Four Walls,” which is entirely made up of recordings from a recent performance.
The red-tinted layers of footage were taken from their show at the 02 Arena in London, for which they brought vocalist trio Vaults onstage. The resulting visuals make for an understated accompaniment to the actual music – which, in true Gorgon City fashion, speaks for itself.
Speaking of live shows, the duo recently announced that they will be touring alongside UK drum and bass outfit Rudimental in a tour across the Us. With any luck, some video footage from one of those performances will find its way into another music video.

Two beloved UK outfits have just announced plans to tour together stateside. Gorgon City and Rudimental may fall on two polar opposite ends of the electronic music spectrum, but they will join forces on a live tour comprised of five dates throughout the USA late in the spring of 2016.
Rudimental has made a name for themselves by playing the accessible sort of drum and bass that’s been dominating UK airwaves in recent years. Gorgon City, on the other hand, derive most of their infectious sound from garage and house. What both groups share in common is highly engaging live shows – and while each have played for American audiences before, this will be the first time they do so in tandem.
Of course, Rudimental is no stranger to working with artists outside the drum and bass sphere. In June they will be headlining the second annual Wild Life along Disclosure,...

…And actually, some of them are pretty entertaining. Take, for instance, this video uploaded by the Electric Forest attendee who received the Flosstradamus and Disco Biscuits announcement:

It’s confirmed; Disclosure and Rudimental’s very own festival Wild Life will return in 2016, kicking off across two days over the summer. The event began as a show series in 2014 with several successful dates in key cities like Miami and Vegas, before being elevated to full blown festival status last year thanks to the UK duo with help from Rudimental.
2016’s edition of Wild Life is set to take place at Brighton City Airport, spanning June 11 and 12. No details have been released yet regarding the lineup, but if last year’s eclectic roster (which included the likes of Wu Tang Clan, Seth Troxler, Gorgon City and more) is any indication, festival goers can expect some choice performers to make the cut.
Following up on a successful end of the year album release that saw the duo’s sophomore LP Caracal come to fruition, 2016 is set to be a big year for Disclosure,...

In 2015, India proved itself as a fertile breeding ground for dance music, with Skrillex embarking on his debut tour of the country while Hardwell broke the world record for biggest guest list in Mumbai in December. It now appears Diplo may have his sights set on the Asian country as well, as rumors circulate about the possibility of a Mad Decent Block Party taking over India.
A now deleted Gorgon City post hints at the notion of an Indian Mad Decent festival, with three February tour dates falling under the Block Party header in key cities including Mumbai, Agra, and Bengaluru.
It’s unclear at this time if the posted tour dates were simply erroneous in nature or if the news wasn’t meant for release at the time of the post, so Indian EDMers shouldn’t hold their breath yet. But with a huge population and plenty of dance music lovers to boot,...

Mary J. Blige is hard at work on her next album, the follow-up to last year's brilliant London Sessions, and she's returned in part to the team of Brits who helped reinvigorate her sound. She's collaborating closely again with her "Doubt" songwriter RØMANS (né Sam Roman), the young English singer/producer whose work appears on Disclosure's "Jaded" and Gorgon City's "Saving My Life," and comes co-signed by R&B great Rodney Jerkins. This summer, Roman even had the chance to write with John Legend. Around that same time, RØMANS stepped out from behind the scenes with the release of his debut Ep, Overthinking Part 1, the first half of an upbeat soul collection meant to preview his forthcoming LP. The title track from the Ep recently caught the ear of the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul, who decided to rework "Overthinking" during one of their recent studio sessions together. "I played...

Sigma are the latest Edm act to hit out at Simon Cowell's new show Ultimate DJ.
Cameron Edwards and Joe Lenzie described the project as a "terrible idea" and added that it "should be scrapped".
Asked if they would ever consider judging on the show, the duo's response was unsurprisingly negative.
"Absolutely not," they said, speaking at Thorpe Park Resort's Island Beats show.
The show's winning DJ will bag a headline spot at a major electronic music festival, and will also secure a record contract with Ultra Records and Sony Music.
Cowell's latest project has also been criticised by Fatboy Slim, who revealed that he refused to take part, and Gorgon City, who believe it is a bad thing for the industry.
However, Cowell has promised that Ultimate DJ will treat electronic music with "respect".
