“Since the tragic death of her young son, acclaimed author Aggie Wiggs has receded from public life, unable to write, a ghost of her former self. But she finds an unlikely subject for a new book when the house next door is bought by Nile Sheldon, a famed and formidable real estate mogul who was once the prime suspect in his wife’s disappearance,” reads the Netflix synopsis. “At once horrified and fascinated by this man, Aggie finds herself compulsively hunting for the truth – chasing his demons while fleeing her own – in a game of cat and mouse that might turn deadly.”

“Elementary” came to an end on Thursday after seven years and more than 150 episodes, with Sherlock and Joan reunited at the brownstone to solve one final case.
“It was really important to me to bring them home,” series creator Rob Doherty said of the episode in an interview with TheWrap. “They live in the brownstone, but the precinct is just as much a home to them, in the same way that the people there are family. I wanted to suggest to the audience that you really can come home again.”
The finale’s three-year time jump — time Sherlock spent working independently in Europe after faking his death — was a nod to the original Sherlock Holmes’ death in “The Final Problem” and his resurrection in its sequel “The Adventure of the Empty House.” Not only was it a chance for Doherty and the writers to show how the characters grow and change having lived separate lives,...

Despite predictions to the contrary, the Instinct TV show has been renewed for a second season on CBS. In season one, the ratings for the procedural TV series rose from the first week to the second, before dropping off pretty sharply, then rallying some. Based on the demo numbers alone, a cancellation seemed more likely, but like many CBS TV series, its average total audience size seems to have gotten Instinct past the finish line. A CBS crime thriller, based on the James Patterson novel, Murder Games, Instinct stars Alan Cumming, Bojana Novakovic, Daniel Ings, Naveen Andrews, and Sharon Leal. The drama centers on Dr. Dylan Reinhart (Cumming), a former CIA operative who is lured out of his peaceful retirement as a university professor and author, to help NYPD Detective Lizzie Needham (Novakovic) catch a serial killer.
