RuPaul’s Drag Race is more than just your typical reality TV competition series; it has evolved into a cultural phenomenon. The show has crowned numerous superstar drag queens who have stomped through the Werk Room, with over 100 queens competing for the highest honor in the world of drag.
Hosted by RuPaul Charles, it celebrates the artistic prowess of drag queens from diverse backgrounds and offers a glimpse into the lives of contestants who courageously share their tales of resilience in the face of discrimination and prejudice.
Since its debut in 2009, the show has consistently delivered iconic television moments, with episodes challenging contestants to showcase their ‘charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent.’ Even if one doesn’t snatch the crown as the season’s winner, there’s still the opportunity to secure a coveted place in the ‘Drag Race Hall of Fame’ through RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars.

Filmoption will launch the film at the upcoming Berlin European Film Market.

They include Terry (Andrew Moodie), an uptight, middle-aged man who grows enamoured of the erratic, young drifter squatting next door; Brigit (Grace Glowicki), a spiritual debunker who exposes psychic frauds on her little-seen YouTube channel; Riley (Amanda Martinez), a compulsive liar whose many tall tales are starting to catch up to her; and the collection of neighbours who surround them.
The cast also includes Brennan Clost, Josh Dohy and Joshua Allan Eads.

Top drag stars, LGBTQ celebrities including Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Adam Lambert, and celebrity allies of the queer community banded together Sunday to stage Drag Isn’t Dangerous, a telethon to raise money to combat anti-lgbtq legislation.
As anti-drag and anti-trans bills proliferate across the United States — such as Tennessee’s ban on public drag performances (which has been temporarily blocked by a judge) — the telethon brought in more than $500,000 from 5,000 individual donors. According to the organizers, “all net proceeds from the event will be divided among approved charities (GLAAD, Glsen, Headcount, Black Queer Town Hall, The ACLU Drag Defense Fund, Trans Justice Funding Project, Victory Fund) that support Lgbtqia+ causes and drag performers in need, especially in states where they face discrimination and bans.” The fundraiser, held through GoFundMe, continues through Tuesday.

Thanks to the success of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and its spinoffs, drag has hit the mainstream in recent years — and at the same time, is under attack in the U.S., with several Republican-run states having introduced legislation to ban drag while scaling back hard-fought Lgbtqia+ rights.
Queens throughout America are fighting back, and have assembled a star-studded array of talent to participate in the “Drag Isn’t Dangerous” telethon, set to stream live at DragIsntDangerous.com on Sunday, May 7.
“According to the ACLU, there are currently 467 bills in the United States legislature targeting the Lgbtqia+ community,” notes the telethon’s website.

It took almost 30 years and a little bit of magic to deliver Hocus Pocus 2. The original film, released in 1993, wasn’t a hit with audiences or critics, and it’s believed that the film may have lost about 16.5 million in its original theatrical run. However, through positive word of mouth and annual screenings on the Disney Channel and Freeform (formerly ABC Family), Hocus Pocus eventually caught on with the audiences that mattered and became a solid home video grosser for the House of Mouse. With legacy sequels en vogue and nostalgia constantly mined by the big studios, Poof, production began on Hocus Pocus 2.
The original film centered on the Sanderson Sisters, three Salem witches condemned to death in 1693 after they drained the life force of a young girl and cursed her brother to live an eternity as a black cat. Before their execution, the witches cast a curse...

"Solar Opposites" is getting into the Halloween special game with one that looks poised to offer the best spooky season-themed animated fun this side of "The Simpsons" Treehouse of Horror specials. Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan's adult-oriented sitcom about aliens living in the suburbs has always been jam-packed with wild jokes and freaky sci-fi hijinks, but this episode, in particular, looks extra off-the-wall.
A trailer for the episode, which is appropriately titled "A Sinister Halloween Scary Opposites Solar Special," just dropped, and it honestly looks like the kind of thing Halloween-loving TV fans will have on heavy rotation this fall. It starts with Korvo's (Roiland) admission that he hates October, a "spooky-a** month" that's "too haunting and spine-tingling," and ends with a very funny joke I can't describe in print. Check out the trailer below.

Disney has released the official trailer for “Hocus Pocus 2,” in which the Sanderson sisters will once again put a spell on you. The new trailer debuted at the D23 Expo with an introduction from Disney Chairman Alan Bergman.
“It is a film that exists thanks to the overwhelming love all of you have here for the Sanderson sisters,” Bergman shared before re-introducing the crowd to a cute produced video hello from the sisters themselves.
Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy and Doug Jones are reprising their roles from the original 1993 film. Hannah Waddingham, Tony Hale, Sam Richardson, Lilia Buckingham, Belissa Escobedo and Whitney Peak also star in the sequel, along with “Drag Race” queens Ginger Minj, Kahmora Hall and Kornbread “The Snack” Jeté.
Waddingham’s role was revealed to be the witch who gives young Midler the book of magic, thus revealing a 370 year secret as to how the Sanderson sisters became magical.

Salem’s Sanderson Sisters—Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimi—are back this Halloween in “Hocus Pocus 2” on Disney+. The streamer just launched the first teaser, which shows how two teen girls (Whitney Peak and Lilia Buckingham) resurrect the charmed triumvirate with some incantations and candles probably not purchased at Bed, Bath, and Beyond.
The 1993 original, directed by Kenny Ortega and written by Mick Garris and Neil Cuthbert, is a cult film in the truest sense of the word, and not just because of its occultist themes. The campy-spooky witch picture didn’t connect with critics at the time, and was a box office dud.
But the movie, which began its life as a story producer David Kirschner dreamed up as a bedtime story for his kids, eventually found its audience. Like the witches themselves, it had an afterlife, with repeat airings on ABC Family and the Disney Channel.

When “RuPaul’s Drag Race” launched on Logo a decade ago, it was watched by so few people that the inaugural run was later lovingly dubbed “The Lost Season.” But as the years and seasons of that reality competition series went on, its popularity grew exponentially and its influence subsequently spread over other parts of the entertainment industry — from a sketch on “Saturday Night Live,” to seeing the queens who had come through the competition guest star on scripted television shows including “Playing House” and “Room 104,” to having drag performers become integral talent on the big screen.

For the second time in herstory, RuPaul's Drag Race is running an all-star season, bringing back 10 of the most popular non-winners from previous seasons for another chance at the crown.
While the show will have big changes – including the dissolution of the widely-criticized team competition that plagued the first All Stars season – none are as welcome as new permanent judge Todrick Hall.
The 31-year-old YouTube sensation is joining the panel alongside Carson Kressley, Michelle Visage and RuPaul herself.
In addition to an exclusive sneak peek at Hall's introduction along guest judge Raven-Symoné, People has the exclusive sneak peek at Hall on Thursday's premiere!

Get ready for the return of your favorite drag queens because later this month RuPaul's Drag Race is giving us another All Stars season. Can you believe we are already getting more eleganza when it feels like season 8 just ended?
In case you haven't seen the cast, here's our returning queens:
Adore Delano (Season 6) Alaska (Season 5) Alyssa Edwards (Season 5) Coco Montrese (Season 5) Detox (Season 5) Ginger Minj (Season 7) Katya Zamolodchikova (Season 7) Phi Phi O'Hara (Season 4) Roxxxy Andrews (Season 5) Tatianna (Season 2)
That is an overload of season five realness, but if it means the return of Rolaskatox, we are perfectly okay with that. Tatianna is the only returning early season competitor and maybe the season's underdog - don't forget she was the original Snatch Game winner with her Britney Spears ("I got lost!"). Overall this cast is heavy with strong performers ready to bring the drama. This round is forgoing the first...

Back in 2009, you'd be hard-pressed to find an average American who knew the definition of a death drop or how to read a queen for filth. That all changed with RuPaul's Drag Race, the must-see competition series returning this summer with its second All Stars season on Logo. And it promises to be bitchier and funnier than ever.
"The girls dropped whatever they were doing to do this," RuPaul says. "We've got a hundred girls now, so we could pretty much do All Stars forever."
So who's going to lip-sync...

The tepid seventh season of "RuPaul's Drag Race" came to a close last night in decadent fashion. The three finalists, Ginger Minj, Pearl, and Violet Chachki sashayed for Ru's final blessing. Who won? Check below. We'll tell you why it's annoying. Though Ginger Minj was the favorite going into the finale thanks to her wild showmanship and electrifying impersonation of Adele, the crown went to Violet Chachki. Take a look at her season highlight reel. In seasons past, contestants won "RuPaul's Drag Race" for exhibiting a range of charismatic traits. Season six winner Bianca Del Rio was snide, ferocious, and whip-smart. Season five winner Jinkx Monsoon was kooky, kitschy, and slyly carnal. Violet Chachki, meanwhile, is certainly a glamorous and compelling stage-walker, but she's exhibited none of the comic verve that has made so many other notable contestants (Sharon Needles, Alaska, Adore Delano, Willam) such indelible characters. In fact, Violet...
