- Michel Verschueren was born on March 17, 1931 in Boortmeerbeek, Flanders, Belgium. He was married to Marie-Louise Susic. He died in September 2022 in Wolvertem, Flanders, Belgium.

- In the BRTN (Flemish Television) program Morgen Maandag , Verschueren said in 1993 that "striking is for the lazy". A few days later, he was allowed to apologize to some Anderlecht supporters who were involved in the strikes at the Renault car factory.
- In 2001 Verschueren received the Homophobia Prize for a number of LGB-unfriendly statements. For example, Verschueren said that "two men or two women in a bed are decadent". He also called LGBs "unnatural" and "really sick". When he was criticized, he stuck to his statements. "I don't deviate a millimeter from my point of view," he said.
- In 1963, chairman Albert Roosens brought him to Anderlecht. Verschueren became a fitness trainer and worked together with trainers Pierre Sinibaldi, Arnould De Raeymaeker, András Béres and Norberto Höfling.
- After his career as a manager, Verschueren ended up on the board of Anderlecht. He also became the manager of the restaurant Le Saint-Guidon.
- It was trainer Tomislav Ivic, who gave him the nickname "Mister Michel" in the early 80s.
