- Yi Cheng was noticed for his artistic talent at a young age. Having been praised for his innate ability with color and composition by relatives, friends and strangers alike, when it came time to apply for university, he chose the most prestigious performing arts university in China, Shanghai Theater Academy. While in university, Yi began to find an interest in film and started to consider it as a possible career option. He graduated with a degree Stage Design.
By the time he graduated, he had directed several short films, produced a web series, and he had even been hired as the assistant director for Shang Hua, a feature-length film which was broadcast nationwide on CCTV-6, a national Chinese public network. He also wrote and directed the short film "Brothers" which aired on Youku and received 500K+ views.
He moved to Los Angeles and continued working in film. He served in locations on WB's/DC Birds of Prey and Marvel/Disney's Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings. While in America, Yi has produced 15 films including Wet Paint which won 3 short film awards on the festival circuit.
