Ryan Gomes is an award-winning Cape Verdean/American director, based in LA, born in Maine and raised in Rhode Island. His films have played at festivals internationally, and his commercial work has been broadcast to millions of people on network television. Ryan is passionate about education, the arts and about storytelling, so much that he founded Reel Artistry, a non-profit that since 2017 years this organization has taught over 700 young people film-making and photography.
Ryan attended high school at Jacqueline M. Walsh School for the performing and visual arts in Pawtucket Rhode Island where he majored in guitar, both jazz and classical. He continued his studies at the University of Rhode Island where he studied jazz guitar before changing his major to film and graduating with a degree in film.
Ryan is also a veteran of the Rhode Island Army National Guard, ending his service as an Airframe Mechanic in 2019.
