“Fleabag,” “Pose” and “Grey’s Anatomy” are among the recipients of the 2018-19 ReFrame Stamp for Television, Variety has learned exclusively.
Additionally, ReFrame and IMDbPro have extended their partnership through 2022.
The ReFrame Stamp for Television’s inaugural class of recipients was the 2017-18 television season. Then, the organization awarded 62 series the stamp. Now, only 21 series are receiving the new season’s stamp.
While that seems like a steep decline, ReFrame and IMDbPro have actually altered the decision-making process for which series receive the stamp. The first year, producers, studios and networks were allowed to submit for the stamp via an open call. Now, ReFrame and IMDbPro have created “a baseline and closed data set on which to more accurately compare yearly results.” In doing this, the organizations have found that only 22 series for the 2017-18 television season qualify for the stamp under the new metric. While all 62 series that originally earned...

IMDb has revealed its Top 10 Stars and Top 10 Breakout Stars of 2019, with “Captain Marvel” star Brie Larson coming in No. 1 on the first list and “The Boys” star Erin Moriarty topping the second, TheWrap has learned exclusively.
In addition, TheWrap has learned exclusively that “Stranger Things” star Dacre Montgomery — who is No. 5 on this year’s Top Stars list and No. 2 among the Breakout Stars rankings — has been given the IMDb STARmeter Award, an honor shared by Larson, IMDb’s No. 1 star of 2019 and the recipient of the 2015 IMDb Breakout STARmeter Award.
“Rather than base its annual rankings on small statistical samplings, reviews of professional critics, or box office performance, IMDb determines its definitive top 10 lists using data from IMDbPro STARmeter rankings, which are based on the actual page views of more than 200 million monthly visitors to IMDb,” the website told TheWrap.

IMDbPro, the leading database cataloguing entertainment industry professionals and their contact details, has made updates to its app that includes direct access to resources such as the Women in Film Sexual Harassment Help Line and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The changes are part of an effort to support better professional conduct and gender parity in the industry. The changes were added with the recent launch of the first IMDbPro app for android.
In June, IMDbPro announced a collaboration with ReFrame — a coalition of industry professionals and partner companies founded by Women In Film and Sundance Institute whose mission is to increase the number of women of all backgrounds working in film, TV and media — to recognize standout, gender-balanced film and TV projects. IMDbPro has added a feature to its iPhone app that allows users to keep tabs on the talent and projects they’re interested in most.
The new Track functionality is intended to help industry professional stay abreast of the latest developments in their business, funneling relevant trade news from sources like Variety for the people and programs (TV and film) a subscriber can opt in to track. Users can receive notifications and a personalized news stream in the app’s inbox.
“IMDbPro members are busy professionals and they need convenient, timely and cusotmizable access to news that matters the most,” said Col Needham, founder and CEO of IMDb.
Among the 5 million titles being tracked are 25,000 titles still in development that are accessible on the app but not IMDb itself. Amazon, which owns IMDb, recently offered a 60% discount to IMDbPro members to Amazon Prime subscribers for a limited time only.

ReFrame — a coalition of industry leaders founded by Women in Film and the Sundance Institute — and IMDBPro announced on Thursday a new data initiative to certify gender-balanced films and television shows, naming 12 films that received the newly-unveiled ReFrame Stamp.
The collaboration relies on data from IMDBPro to analyze films and television series to see how many women were involved in the production, and how much screen time female characters had. To earn the ReFrame Stamp, a film or TV show must meet a handful of requirements that call for women in key roles like starring, directing, producing, and writing. Additional points are awarded for having racial diversity. (The full criteria can be found here.)
“Through this collaboration we are committed to cultivating a more inclusive media landscape that illuminates the cultural and economic benefits of diversity in storytelling,” Cathy Schulman, ReFrame co-founder and president of Welle Entertainment, said in a statement.
