Jeopardy!‘s Invitational Tournament continues to rage on and it was a close call for a fan-favorite in the March 28th quarterfinals match between Sam Kavanaugh, Chuck Forrest, and Monica Thieu. As a five-game champion from Season 35 and 2021 Tournament of Champions winner, Sam has been a recent favorite among viewers of the game show. But things weren’t looking good for Sam early on as he entered Double Jeopardy with a meager $200 against Chuck’s $2,600 and Moncia’s impressive $8,200. Things began to turn around for Sam in the Double Jeopardy round as he snagged both Daily Doubles delivering correct responses for clues in the categories “Art Terms” and “Science.” In both instances, he added thousands to his score, leaving him at a marginal lead over Chuck’s $11,000 with $12,000. After weeks of twists and turns, Jeopardy! has finally crowned the winner of the 2024 Tournament of Champions.
Yogesh Raut towered above the competition throughout the finals, and his third victory allowed him to take the overall win.
Tuesday’s shocking episode featured the power going back and forth between him and Troy Meyer.
Ben Chan, who turned in another strong showing throughout the Tournament of Champions, struggled to keep up the pace.
Ultimately, Raut’s win came after he pulled ahead of Meyer when his opponent got the answer wrong at the start of Final Jeopardy!
Raut’s win secured him a healthy $250,000 prize and an entry in the upcoming Jeopardy! Masters tournament.

As the current Tournament of Champions approaches the finish line, we already have confirmation on what’s on tap for the rest of the month.
As expected, more alums will return to the show before we meet new faces in April.
The producers’ aim is for the new players to have original questions that haven’t previously been used on the show.
Next up, we’re getting fan favorites back on the show for the first-ever invitational tournament.
Austin Rogers, who gained many fans during his initial stint on Jeopardy, will return alongside Andrew He, Amy Schneider, and Sam Buttrey.
