Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida, B.B. Clarke has filled many curious positions including kabuki actor assistant, fake wedding priest, translator of erotica, and TV news journalist, though he now spends most of his time translating and writing in his Tokyo home. Growing up with a keen interest in movies and securing the foundation of his film pedigree with a slate of poorly acted, poorly conceived, and poorly executed films about Floridian ninjas as a youth, B.B. pursued his interest in acting and film in university, becoming the first ever foreigner to participate in the All-Japan student comedic storytelling competition, Sakuden Taisho, in 2009, and working on several student films while attending graduate school at Sophia University before becoming attached to his first major independent film project in 2015 as a writer, editor, and later producer.
