Harold Eugene Catron Jr., better known by his stage name Harold Foxx, is an aspiring screenwriter, comedian, director, producer, and actor who happens to be Deaf. Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Harold graduated with a bachelor's degree from Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., where he also played college football.
Harold is renowned for his stand-up comedy, having performed at prestigious universities such as The Ohio State University, the University of California at Berkeley, California State University at Northridge, and iconic comedy venues such as the Crow Comedy, the Laugh Factory, Flappers Comedy Club, and the Palm Springs International Virtual Comedy Festival 2020.
His involvement in various film, television, and stage productions includes "The Actor Whisperer," "For My Woman," "Audism Unveiled," Deaf West Theatre and Pasadena Playhouse's production of "Our Town," and Playwrights Horizons' "I Was Alive With You" (NYC Off-Broadway Production). Harold wrote, produced, directed, and acted in "Smell the Nature" for the 2021 Easterseals Disability Film Challenge.
Recognized for his talent and dedication, Harold was selected for a competitive fellowship for the 2021 RespectAbility Lab for Entertainment Professionals with Disabilities. Currently, he proudly serves as Associate Producer on Orange Kite Productions' feature documentary "Being Michele." This film highlights the journey of a deaf woman with autism who survived incarceration and abuse and now uses her artwork to depict the trauma she survived and heal her past. Harold has also served as an Art Education Teaching Artist for Deaf West Theatre and was a post-production intern for a comedy and romantic feature film, "Something from Tiffany's," by Amazon Studios. He served as Director of ASL for "Marque Dos," a short film created during the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival, and was a judge for the 2023 Deaf Film Festival.
Harold co-wrote, co-directed, and starred in "Open to Interpretation" with Chrissy Marshall, who served as producer, a five-minute dark comedy sketch about a Black Deaf comedian. This project earned Harold a nomination for Best Actor at the 2024 Easterseals Disability Film Challenge.
Currently, Harold is training with The Groundlings, an improvisation and sketch comedy theatre & school based in Los Angeles, California. He is also pursuing a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in screenwriting at California State University, Northridge.
