J. Ferron studied his Master's in Film Scoring under the mentorship of Dr. Daniel Walker at Cornel School of Contemporary Music (CSCM), in Los Angles, California, USA (2014 - 2016).
Along teachers and mentors like Norman Ludwin, who is an upright bass player and arranger for Michael Giacchino (composer for films like Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Ratatouille, The Incredibles, Jurassic World, among many others), Michael Bradford (producer for Deep Purple, Madonna, Kid Rock), Mauricio Guerrero (world-renowned Grammy winner audio engineer and producer for artist like Shakira, Beyonce, Neil Diamond, Celine Dion, Gloria Estefan, Luis Miguel, just to name a few), Tony Neiman (well-known Italian concert pianist and trailer composer) and Mauricio 'Otto' De Togni (international technology expert and consultant for Maroon 5); J. Ferron was able to develop a unique voice and approach for music composition and film scoring. Getting out of stated cliches, J. Ferron tries to always innovate and bring the director's idea to life.
From Mexico City, J. Ferron moved to L.A. in 2014 with the goal of expanding his network, learning and developing his musicianship while searching new opportunities to collaborate with other people, classmates, and teachers. Throughout this new journey, J. Ferron got the opportunity to also continue studying bass under the mentorship of the amazing legend Abraham Laboriel (more than 4,000 recordings with the best artists in the industry throughout his career... and counting!) as well as some tutoring from teachers like Otmaro Ruiz, Allen Hinds, Billy Kerr and Oscar Hernandez (Grammy winner salsa composer and pianist).
J. Ferron also has a Bachelor's in Accountancy and graduate studies in Specialty in Brand Management by the Universidad Panamericana (Mexico) which brings up all his business-oriented mind to the game and towards the Music and Film Industry.
He is also a ProTools 12 certified engineer by Avid and works at The Room studios in Los Angeles, CA with the Latin Grammy Award winner and nominee Mauricio Garza.
