Neønymus
- Composer
Under this alias, the Spanish multi-instrumentalist and composer Silberius de Ura develops and performs live a deeply evocative music of ancient times, using a bold combination of technology, prehistoric instruments and his very personal voice.
Silberius was born in 1969 in Bilbao (Spain) and spent a good part of his childhood living in the village of Ura (Burgos, Spain), when there was still no electricity or running water there, and perhaps this determined his fascination with the mixture of the ancestral with the avant-garde.
In his youth Silberius abandoned his studies at the Burgos Professional Conservatory of Music and his organ studies to continue in a self-taught and experimental way.
His album Ø, recorded in 2013 at the Monastery of Santo Domingo de Silos (Burgos, Spain), has twice been number 1 in sales in Spain. In 2018 he received the award for Best Sound Space at the prestigious European Performing Arts Festival FETEN (Gijón, Spain), for the music composed for the play "En busca del fuego", by the Arawake Theatre company. His work in the BSO of the series "Conquistadores Adventvm" of the TV channel Movistar #0, was a finalist worldwide in the renowned MUSIC & SOUND AWARDS 2018, in the category "Best original composition - Television Programme Score", competing against Hans Zimmer, who was finally the winner. In 2019 he published two new albums: SENDERO (The Shaman's Dreams Trilogy) and V.
He has given concerts in such singular places as the National Archaeological Museum, Archaeological Sites, Castles, Visigothic Churches, Prehistoric Caves, Dolmens, Monasteries, Forests... as well as in television programmes (La2, TVE, Cuatro, RTVG, Telemadrid, etc.) and in hundreds of Teaching Centres.
Silberius integrates music, lyrics, video creation and photography in his artistic production. He has published a book titled "ragen: raíz y origen". In the small town where he lives (Covarrubias, Burgos, Spain), he co-manages the space of culture and artistic creation "Búnker Cultural".
