Originally Palestinian, raised in Jordan with an Austrian grandmother, Tara Hakim is an Artist, Director & Editor now based in Toronto. Working with video, photography, and performance, Tara creates public displays of vulnerability that invite the viewer to meditate on notions of self, multi-cultural identities, and spaces in between. Tara completed her BA with honors in Media & Cultural Studies at Kingston University and holds an MFA degree in Documentary Media from Ryerson University. Her first film,'Teta, Opi & Me', has screened in festivals across the world including RIDM, and won the Audience Choice and Best Documentary awards at MOMO, Zurich 2019.
