A Wonderful Film!
16 December 2010
In a year where Annette Bening is winning awards for "The Kids Are Alright", she is just as deserving for this brilliant little unseen gem. Naomi Watts, Samuel L. Jackson, and Kerry Washington are stellar as well. The story of three woman all on the journey of motherhood, is moving, touching, well acted, thought provoking, and superbly directed. It is too bad the distribution was weak and that this film was lost in shuffle. As the viewer you are taken inside their lives and given insight into how we are all shaped by the experiences we have, regardless of the circumstances. The film is well balanced, transitioning back and forth with the three female leads. Annette, Naomi, and Kerry all have many moments to shine given the complex developed script and own their parts. This film is an amazing character study and makes you think about life, love, and relationships.
