6/10

6 November 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Hrishikesh Mukherjee is one of the best filmmakers who gave us films like Namak Haraam, Mili, Anand on one side and comedies like Chupke Chupke, Golmaal, Naram Garam.etc on the other. Rang Bhirangi is his last film with Amol Palekar with whom he gave several great comedies. The film is based on a story by noted Hindi writer, Kamleshwar, The film like other HM comedies has lot of complexities but yet it has it's charm, something recent comedies lack. The film has a decent plot, all complicated but yet it's fun to watch. The film also has cameos by Raj Babbar, Bindiya Goswami.etc At times the film is stretched too but yet it's worth a watch

Direction is awesome Music is decent

Amol Palekar excels as always, the actor plays his part superbly, Farooque Sheikh too is admirable, Parveen Babi perhaps her only film with HM is excellent, Deven Verma is exceptional as always Utpal Dutt makes a late entry but is superb and also won an award that year,Deepti Naval is superb as always, Om Prakash is as always superb
