Episode 16 of Season 1 of MONSTERS is rather an offensive episode, given that the monsters of the title are a pair of conjoined twins who are being visited by loved ones and a doctor concerned for their mental state. Certainly the special effects are poor and the attempts at humour are even worse, with almost the entire running time consisting of having the two guys bickering and hitting each other throughout.
It's a dumb comedy all right, and one that didn't sit well with me; this is the kind of subject matter that should be handled seriously, not in a goofy prosthetic show like this. Even worse, such an episode relies entirely on the calibre of the script for effect, and the script is rubbish to say the least; the characters are annoying, and the humour forced and unfunny. One to miss.
